Question about Kenmore Oasis HE 27082 Top Load Washer
I have misplaced the Operating Manual and I keep getting an F1 showing up at which time I have to stop the machine, raise the lid, redistribute the load and if I am lucky, it will resume washing. Then it repeats the same thing at the rinse cycle. Please help.
To clear up the parts confusion there is a machine control which is the main control and is most likely responsible for the F1 error code. On the actual parts list it is listed as a "control unit assembly, machine and motor" but when it prices it will show electronic control. There is an interface control which is part of the console and contains the buttons you press to select cycles and options. It would not be a part that would cause the F1 error.
For the F1 error only the W10189966 electronic control is responsible and most often changed to correct this problem.
There is a thing or two to try first before replacing the control board if you don't mind a little do-it-yourself.
The image below contains 4 things besides the control that might cause the F1 error code. Three of the potential problem are related to the air dome and pressure hose that connects the air trap to the main control.
One thing to try is to access the pressure hose on the main control and with the tub empty disconnect it and blow through it towards the tub. You should be able to blow without to much effort. You might even hear bubbles from the sump of the washer. Check also for any kinks in the hose that might prevent air pressure from reaching the control.
The 2nd image below shows how to access the pressure switch hose. You won't have to go past removing the console to access the pressure hose.
Remember to unplug the washer first.
The 3rd image shows how to recalibrate the control board. Read through the instructions first and see if this is something you'd be comfortable trying. It may take a time or two to successful but it may help with the F1 error code.
