Press the set button located above the menu button to erase a single picture. The set button is like an enter button on a PC

First, zoom in to your subject. Press and hold the manual macro focus located at the left side of the camera's lense (that's the bottom one)

While holding, press the up / down button from your navigation button (silver arrow keys / button / etc) and you'll notice a window appear in the center of your screen. Use your best judgment (eye) on trying to focus on the subject (with the use of the up / down arrows), Then shoot it.

I cann't figure out how to delete photos from memory card. lost my manuel

The best way to delete all photos from the card is to format it. This prepares it for further use. FixYa is full of people asking how to salvage pictures from cards that haven't been formatted regularly.

You can download the manual from the manufacturer's web site at

I have a Canon Power Shot A580 i just want to erase some photos from the camera thats it

Put the camera in picture review mode. Then use the zoom to bring up thumbnail diplays. Use the up/down, right/left buttons to navigate to the individual picture that you want to erase. Then press the "trashcan" button on the back of your camera. Select yes when it asks if you want to delete this picture.

Alternately you can delete all the pictures by again selecting picture review mode, pressing "menu", then scrolling to "erase all" pictures.

Borrowed camera. PowerShot SD500. How do I delete a picture?

You can download the PowerShot SD500 user guide/manual here:

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=323&modelid=11157

But the short and skinny is here:

To erase single images:

1) Use the <- or -> button to select an image for deletion and press the "little trash" icon.

2) Use the <- or -> button to select [Erase] and press the FUNC./SET button.
To exit instead of erasing, select [Cancel].

You'll find the erase information on pages 131 and 132 of the pdf.

Have fun!

How to delete a picture

Slide the upper-right slide switch down to put the camera in picture review mode. Press right or left on the circular switch to find the particular picture you want to delete. Then press the upper left "trashcan" button to delete.

To erase ALL the pictures, leave the camera in picture review mode and press the menu button. The erase command should be around the fourth item listed in the menu that pops up.

When done, don't forget to slide the upper-right switch up to put the camera back in picture taking mode.

Hi i would like to know how to delete pictures from my CANON DIGITAL POWERSHOT SD 850 IS camera.

If it's anything like my A620, go into Review mode (there should be a switch between a camera picture and a triangle play icon - you want the triangle), and navigate to the picture you want to delete. Then press the button with the trash can next to it.

Erasing unwanted pictures

It would make much more sense to name a button called OK. Wouldn't it. Well, Canon decided to call this action button SET. So, in this case, highlight the Erase option and press SET to erase the image.

Hope this answers your question, if so, please choose FixYa!

ThankYa!
