Right click my computer
--> properties
--> Hardware tab
--> Device manager

OR open control panel and click and open "device manager"

then,

go to system devices
---> select Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for HD Audio
---> right click and Disable first, then Uninstall
---> Close All windows, and reinstall your Zip Audio XP file.

Note: if you do not have the installation files for acer aspire notebook for XP (most likely you purchase a notebook with only linpus or vista option....) get the installation files below:
URL ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_4715_z/driver/Audio_Azalia_v.5.10.0.5443.zip

should fix your problem entirely if you are using acer aspire 4715z series notebook...

if you need drivers for other acer notebooks, go to:
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook
and search for the appropriate drivers...

you welcome~ and enjoy your working notebook =D

Make sure the sound icon is not clicked to mute in the bottom right hand corner.
System restore to an earlier date and restart.

Sound driver may need to be uninstalled and reinstalled.

You are missing this fix called "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio", below is the download link

http://america.giga-byte.com/FileList/Driver/motherboard_driver_audio_realtek_azalia.exe

Just download the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio driver and install it and installed the Audio driver you have downloaded earlier.

It will solve your problem.

That's it.

Exclamation Mark in Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus

You will need to reload the drivers for your audio device. Where you saw the exclamation mark, if you right click, properties, you should see a tab for reinstall drivers. This should take care of your problem. (As a back-up, if the reinstall does not work, check the Acer support page, and download the drivers for your model notebook.) Good luck.

Acer Aspire 5610

go to the device manager on your computer, and look at the Audio devices, and see if there is a yellow(!) next to anything, if not right click on the audio device, and select uninstall, say yes to all the prompts that follow, then reboot. When then computer boots back up it should show a found new hardware wizard, follow all of the on screen instructions and this should fix your problem.
