Hi,

First of all please clean the laser lens to see if it solves your problem.

1) Purchase a CD/DVD laser lens cleaner disc,

and run it through the system 5-6 times. You could easily get the laser lens cleaner disc from walmart.

2) purchase a can of compressed air .Open the CD tray or remove the cover of the player by removing the screws located on the sides towards the bottom and on the back towards the top. Then spray the can at a distance 10"- 12" from the lens to blow the dust away.

The compressed air can is available at walmart, amazon etc.

3)You can also use isopropyl alcohol, and a cotton swab to gently wipe the laser eye.

If all these things doesn't work then it is the laser of the unit which is at fault .You have to replace the laser to get everything back to allright.

Good Luck!!

Thanks!!

Dear Taran, Thanks for the explanation. The recorder was purchaser in September 2007 but was not used much because of this fault. Regarding cleaning the lens. Would this require a special disc designed for the purpose ?. As for replacing the lens ! I reckon replacing the machine would be a better proposition. Wot say. DGH.

    Thanks for your response!!

Yes, you need to purchase that disc. It is easily available in the market. You could check with radio shack or fry's. Again, it is NOT a guarantee that it would fix the issue. It is only a trial. Yes, replacement is the best option as cost of repair would be high.

    Good Luck!!

    Thanks!!

Hello,

the fault is from the lens of the DVD player. The lens is weak that's why it not recognizing any disc.

Use a lens cleaner to clean the disc and try again.

Good luck.

I mean, you a lens cleaner to clean the player. If that doesn't solve the problem, the is means the lens is weak such that it cannot be revived. In this case, you will have to replace the lens completely.

Also, how long have you been using this player, the lens is weak/defective and needs to be replaced in order it to load DVD discs again.

    Take care.

I cannot record from a Daewoo DVD recorder ( 8150P) through my Viera TV ( model TX-L32S20B ). The screen says No Signal and instructs me to check inputs. I've tried using all cominations of AV1 and AV2...

If you want to record from the TV to the DVD recorder you have to first select a channel on the TV that you want to record and then take an AV cable ( Yellow / Red / White ) and connect from the Monitor out socket of the TV to the AV in of the Daewoo DVD recorder. Drop a blank DVD select AV on the Recorder and press the record button.

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.
