Computer keeps shuting down

Shuts down when? Right after you boot it up? Or does it run a while then shut down?
If it shuts down after it has run for a while then the computer is probably running hot. Either the CPU Fan is not working or the Thermal Paste has dried up or is too thin to keep the CPU Cool. To prove it is running hot, let the computer sit for a while then boot it up. Once it boots up use it until it shuts down and immediately try to boot it up. If it does not boot up that means it's running hot. But if you let it cool off then try booting up you will be successful.

Dell demension 2350 shuts down after a couple minutes what is wrong?

The most likely situation is a file error in the windows boot up process. Try booting the computer in safe mode (press the f8 key after the post screen, and selection menu will come up, sellect safe mode). If it does not boot this way, you could try a boot repair (since you did not list tthe brand model of computer, it is hard to direct you on this course). Most likely you will have to do a full restore to clear the error. This of course will remove all software, data that was not installed on the computer out of the box.

How can i change boot sequence of my desktop

You have to change the boot order at the bios settings. Just after the screen comes up, before windows start up press (repeatly) the F2 key (depending on the model, maybe F1 or del key) and go to the boot sequence. Here change the boot order as you wish.

Computer shuts down and doesnt allow to use f8. shuts down first. what to do? virus help?

Your use of "and" is confusing. F8 is not used during the shut down process; it is used during the boot up process. Since you mention F8, it is presumed that you want to use F8 to get into "Safe Mode" instead. When you re-boot a running computer, very often you will not be able to use F8, but if you totally shut down, then start from scratch, you should be able to hold the F8 key down and it intercept the boot up process to handle things properly. Don't worry if you hear a lot of beeps during the boot up process with the key pressed; it merely means the keyboard buffer is receiving more key presses than it has room for. Since they all are F8, when the boot up process looks at the characters from the keyboard, it will see the F8 key, then display the menu options to boot into Safe Mode.

I have just purchased a Belkin Basic Wireless Modem Router. I tried installing it but when doing so it tells me to check that the cables are connected. I have done this but it still won't install. Is...

After you have installed the unit shut everything down. By shut it down I mean remove all power. This includes the computer. leave all power removed from unit(s) 1 minute. When powering back up power up cable modem first if you have one. Wait for unit to completely boot up. Next power up the wireles router. Once again wait for it to boot completely. Lastly boot your computer. Hope this helps.

Turns off suddenly

Laptop turns off suddenly? Computers may not be smarter than people, but if they’re designed properly, they will shut themselves down before overheating to the extent that they do themselves damage.

If the smart person keeps turning the notebook back on and figures out a way to foil the protection, the laptop is probably doomed.

Once a laptop shuts down for thermal event protection, it may refuse to power back up for a fixed period of time, five or ten minutes, or it may begin to boot and shut down immediately as soon as it boots to the point that it can figure out that its too hot.

The over-temperature protection is generally a BIOS rather than an operating system function, so one sign of an overheated laptop is one that shuts itself down while you’re using it and then refuses to boot as far as the operating system unless you leave it alone for an hour or so to cool down.

Unless you’ve been working in a very unfriendly environment, high temperatures, direct sunlight, etc, you should take even a single overheating shutdown as a warning to back up your data at the first opportunity and to give the cooling system a serious cleaning.

Memorex mmp8567 boot error shutting down

My MMP8567 screen read ''boot error shutting down''.

Update the firmware. Download directly from Memorex site, Support section.

Everytime I plugged it in to the computer the computer would find it but then it would disappear almost immediately.
I downloaded the Updater program from Memorex but it couldn't find the player.
The directions from Memorex said ''Hold down the play button and plug in usb cable.'' Another set of Memorex directions said, ''Hold down the power button and plug in usb cable.'' Neither worked for me.

SOLUTION: I finally held down the LOCK/UNLOCK button and plugged in the usb cable. My computer found the player immediately and a software driver window popped up asking for a driver. I let windows search the internet and it found and installed the driver. The driver it was looking for was: ''player recover device class driver''

After windows confirmed it recognized my mp3 player I started up the Firmware update program and was able to update the player.

I tried to be clear and detailed. Good Luck ;-)

Boot Problem in TASCAM 2488

Turning the power off with out going through the shut-down process will sometimes trash the hard drive making it un readable. To force format of hard drive hold down the shut down, send, shift and quick routing keys at the same time then turn power on. This will format the HD. When finished the display will show "Factory initalize complete" "please power off" NOTE you will lose every thing on the HD including the demo song.
