The first thing to check is that nothing is muted/turned down low in the Volume Control/Mixer. Then you need to go into the audio settings in AIM and select a different Microphone from the list. The one set to default is not the one you need. You'll either have a USB input/output for the headset or 2 jack plugs for input and output. These use different drivers on the computer. So just try using the different drivers from the list, one call at a time, remember to reboot AIM as you try each different one, and that the microphone volume settings are turned up in the AIM programs as well as you Volume Control/Mixer.
Hope this helps you progress

SOURCE: ASUS 1000WR. Have had
First order of business would be to try to get an exchange on it, since whatever is going on is not good. The problem could be a bad battery, broken wire inside the headset, faulty board connection in the headset, slightly oxidized or sprung battery contacts, a bad battery, or probably quite a few other things.
Bottom line is, you'll have to probably take it apart to check it out, and it's not going to be fun or easy.
If you can, exchange it. Otherwise, concentrate on why the battery isn't making or supplying the voltage needed.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

SOURCE: asus u52 shut down unexpectedly
When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

What you need to do is to unplug the power cord from your system. Take out the battery. Remove the RAM's cover, take'em out properly, meaning, do not force them out, please, if you never done that before, search the internet on how to do it first. It is not that difficult to do, I promise. Once you do that, try and push the power button twice like your trying to turn it on. We both know it wont work. That's it, leave everything that way for 10 more minutes. Now put everything back. Turn on your PC and good luck.
