What Motherboard model I can use as replacement?

You have to stay within the confines of the numbers! The only changes that you can use are the A and B, When you start to vary the model numbers, the features change as can the location of parts like jacks and ports on the outside and plugs and pins on the inside. SONY is not part friendly and not cheap to replace.

If i got a mother board for a dell an i want to use all other different parts from a different model dell how would i know what drivers to down load?

justin lee.
You would have to know what part it is and go to the website to download the drivers. You will also need to know if the part will work with the motherboard. Not all components are interchangeable with other computers.

A posted problem would have nice ?
Motherboards are an important part of your computer. They enable it to function, and they're an integral piece of your hardware. If you want to avoid the costliness of hiring a professional to troubleshoot and repair your motherboard, you need to learn the best way to figure out the problems yourself.

Back up everything possible on your hard drive. If you're experiencing hardware issues, this is a luxury you might not have. Keep backup files on an alternate data storage system to avoid data loss during hardware problems. Notice the issue and reproduce it so you're aware of where the symptom manifests itself. Isolate the problem. If the system isn't getting power, make sure it's not the power cord or wall outlet before you try a different motherboard. If everything is trying to run but not actually able to, check for loose parts on the motherboard before you replace it. Remove all of the hardware that isn't actually necessary to make the computer function before you can narrow down the causes for your problem to the motherboard. Try another compatible motherboard in your machine once you've eliminated all other potential problems-ok If it works with the alternate motherboard, replace the old one.
Hope this helps.

I have a hard disk running on windows 95 but in DOS mode from another computer. When i fix it to GX270 desktop, the serial port does not function. I need to know what driver I need to download from Dell...

It is not a good idea taking a hard drive from one computer
and using it on another. When windows is installed, it loads
all the drivers for the hardwares attached to a particular
motherboard. Your new Dell GX270 cannot function properly
with the drivers loaded for a different motherboard.
You can fix all your compatibility problems by installing a
fresh new copy of Windows 95 on your GX270.

I have bought parts for a new PC. When starting it up for the first time I just got a 'No Signal' message on the monitor screen. The motherboard is the Rampage III Extreme. The red led is lit on the...

When you turn the computer on, it should "beep" once, if all the hardware (RAM, CPU, video) is working correctly. If it beeps more than once, something is wrong. If there are no beeps, check that the PC Speaker is correctly attached to its pins on the motherboard.

Try the RAM and the video in another motherboard, to confirm that they are working correctly.

Try a different power-supply -- it should output several different voltage-levels, but if it's not 100%, then the motherboard won't function at all.

First, you want to know the motherboard(the computer's main power adopter to different components). The motherboard is sharing the power to the different components like RAM,HDD,DVD R-W etc, which is coming from the power supply. It works like that.
Second, you want to know the PROCESSOR which is the heart of motherboard or computer. It deals with the part of the computer to do various processes on computer as user gives.
Third, you want to know the HDD which is the brain where you can save your personel documents, games, etc.

That depends on what the problem or problem's are. There can be many of few. One can't trouble shoot a repair without knowing what it is that is not functioning! It would also make a BIG difference if you listed the make & model number.
