Seagat 500GB Portable GO external HDD not recognised on PC

first of all you should try it on deferent pc , if its ok then that leads us to insufficient power provided through usb ports , try using back usb ports not the ON-front, and if the problem still try using dual-usb cable like thishttp://www.cooldrives.com/usb-power-cable-mini-b.html and if the external hdd doesn't work at all it might be the usb controller board inside the hdd cage needs to be changed if you cant find a similar one you may buy a new empty cage

How can I change the original HDD with one bigger

If you clone the 160G drive you will always end up with a 160GB drive. COPY {instead of IMAGE or CLONE} the 160GB contents to the 500GB drive and you'll have lots more room on the 500GB drive.

Sir i have intel 965ry mother board i want to connect 3 250gb sata hdd s but the system as slowly why

dear friend
Because it must recognise the three hard disk of 250GB, and memory is not frequent to working with large amount hard disk.
It is better to work with only one hard disk of 250GB. According to mother board requirement it supports up to 500Gb Hard disk but single hard disk of 500GB.

HOW TO CHANGE 320GB SATA HDD TO 500GB SATA

Yes. The case doesn't care what size the drive is. The computer is just asking for the USB driver for the case. Check the WD site for the driver for the model of MyBook that you have. That should cover it.

K8V-MX motherboard+HDD size limit

yes the mother board supports SATA However if you connect large Disks to the SATA connectors they are recognized correctly with full size. So leave your 500g and less HDs on the IDE and the big ones on the SATA. you can check this link for the manual for more information ftp://ftp.chiligreen.com/Desktop/Manuals/manual_a_k8v-mx.pdf hope this helps .thanks and Godbless pls appreciate by rating as fixyaa

LaCie 500GB external HDD stoped working ?

It sounds like its an internal problem with the pcb board inside, which may not be an actual problem with the hdd it self but the mother board.my advice would be to change the board that links between the hdd and the usb cable.
