They're not available as spare parts and never were. Plastic cable ties are extremely cheap and widely available and should do the job fairly neatly as long as you cut off the excess protruding ends after fastening them. But you'll have to cut them and replace with new every time the screens need to come apart so keep a few spares handy somewhere convenient..

We use twist ties from bread bags. Easy to remove for cleaning the fan and hold well.

Just trying to take the plastic covering off of the motor without breaking the plastic controls off

The speed control knob will pry off with a thin screwdriver. Once you have removed it, you will see that the knob for the oscillating feature is split where it slides over its shaft. I took a jeweler's screwdriver and separated the halves slightly and the knob pulled free. It's made that way so it doesn't pull off when you go to turn on/off the oscillation. If you're going to oil the rear of the motor, be really careful when you remove the rear housing and separate the motor sections. The winding wires are tiny andfragile. Only take it apart as far as necessary and be careful reassembling the unit. Hope this helps...!

Lakewood 16" Pedestal Fan- Control Switch gone bad (probably)-

I have seen a number of oscillating fans where the push-pull knob just pulls off. It will require a serious pulling effort - straight up. Do Not use any tools. You may have to have a helper hold the fan while you pull the knob.

After the knob comes off, push the shaft back down with your finger to allow it to clear the housing.
