Benq pq4242. Yesterday, working fine. Today, no sound. I use it as a HUGE laptop monitor at home. connects through the HDMI cable. I have tried the VGA cable, and same problem. Visual, but no sound.

Obviously changed something. Check to make sure you haven't inadvertently muted the speakers. Go on your computer in the sound settings in control panel (manage audio devices) and ensure you have them set right.

Speakers are not working

Not knowing how or what is hooked up here I can only suggest some basic things:

First is do you have sound when playing a DVD or Game connected to the audio/video inputs?

Second is if using a cable box, sat box or audio receiver is sound turned down on any or all of them?

Third is did the speakers in the set get switched to Off instead of ON?

these are common reasons and if all fail---sound circuit in set is suspect number one.

Thinkpad T41 with XP-sp3: No sound / working fine until yesterday

Hi. Try plugging in an external speaker just to test the issue. It could be just the speaker of the laptop is having the problem. If you were able to hear the sound from the external speaker then the problem is the built in speaker of the computer. If there is no sound coming out to external speakers. Try to reinstall the driver of your soundcard.

Same prob. My acer worked and now no sound.

I completely unplugged my speakers. And uninstalled all the hardware for my speakers. Then restarted my computer. Then inserted my format disc for my speakers. Reinstalled it. Using all automatic speaker settings. And they work fine now.

5.1 surround does not work

try splicing your cables to the speakers back about 2-3 inches check all you componet cables to make sure they are all "all" the way in and re-wire the speakers into the jacks, cause anything mildy out of place can casue the other speakers to cut out
