This sounds to me like a setting mess up ...Try to reset the printer from the main menu ..to the original defaults ...This will probably be present like a feature in the menu ..or by turning it down and keep the power button pressed for few seconds no less then 5 when you start it again ...Unplug it also when you shut it down ..this in case it is a printer with not that complicated menu ..
Another thing to do in order to avoid any software settings that causes this issue ..is to reinstall the software you use for printing ,,and the driver for the communication between the printer and the computer ...This way you will be sure that all the settings are on default values..and any issue that may persist will be on a physical nature...
