Question about Bissell Vacuums

The machine is not putting no spray from the bladder or from the formula tank on the carpet. I have only used the machine once and it worked well.

Hello,

Alot of people have this trouble. Most will change the pump 9 times out of ten nothing wrong with the pump.
If you have made sure the tubes are clear, ie there is some water dripping from the nozzle. Then it is most likely to be the vacuum valve on the pump not lifting because the seal between the red lint filter tank and boding is bad. Clean the rubber and lint filter make sure there is no air escaping from the rubber (this is where the tank joins the cleaner body). A good way to try this is to put your foot on the tank body near the red filter and apply pressure, then switch on the cleaner. The suction lifts the vacuum valve allowing the pump to open and **** shampoo & water. Most people leave out the lint filter then wonder why it will no longer pump. You need that vacuum to lift the valve for it to spray.

When button is pressed, water does not come out of the holding canister. still seems to have suction, but water doesn't come out to rinse/clean carpet.


Please check the following with liquid in both tanks.


- Check to see if the machine will spray through the hose with the setting on tools. If it does, the pump is fine. Continue troubleshooting.

- Check for debris on spray tips. Clean them with a soft brush (on old tooth brush works well). The spray tips may be lifted out for easier access.

- Ensure the tank lid is properly attached to the bottom of the tank. To attach this properly, remove the Water Tank from the machine. Hook the front window onto the lip of the bottom container and then allow the window with lid to cover the complete tank. Secure the latch on the back of the bottom tank to the back of the tank lid. THE TANK LID CANNOT BE ATTACHED PROPERLY IF THE BOTTOM TANK IS ALREADY INSTALLED IN THE MACHINE.
- Check the bottom of the Water Tank and the Formula Tank to make sure each has a red auto-load gasket attached. Make sure the Water Tank and the Formula Tank are seated properly. Depress the x on this gasket to ensure this depresses and release back out. Liquid from the tank should dispense.

- Remove the handle completely and re-attach. Once the handle is re-attached, re-attempt to spray.


If the machine continues to not spray, check the following:


REMOVE THE COLLECTION TANK:
• Make sure the unit is set to water rinse
• Remove the smart mix bottle and fill it with water only
• Place the smart mix bottle into the collection tank reservoir
• Run the unit and try to spray. If the machine sprays, you will be able to see the water level decreasing in the smart mix bottle and you will need to replace the bottom tank. It is possibly warped.

I have bissell cleaner 8920 it will not release the cleaning fluid and water


Please check the following with liquid in both tanks.

Pressing the handle to release cleaning solution does nothing. The cleaning solution does not come out. Carpet is dry.


Check to ensure there is liquid in the water tank and the formula bottle.
Note: This machine will spray with liquid in the Water tank only if the machine is set to the Water Rinse setting. On any other setting, you need to have liquid in the formula tank as well.

If no: add liquid to the Water tank and the Formula tank.
If yes: check each of the following....

- Check the bottom of the Water Tank and the Formula Tank to make sure each has a red auto-load gasket attached. Make sure the Water Tank and the Formula Tank are seated properly.
- Ensure the tank lid is properly attached to the bottom of the tank. To attach this properly, remove the Water Tank from the machine. REMOVE THE COLLECTION TANK:
• Make sure the unit is set to water rinse
• Remove the smart mix bottle and fill it with water only

I have the Bissell heat pro 2x 8920 and the water doesn't come out. The soap just mixes with water tank and the carpet stays dry

could be a few things.. take the lid off the tank and try spray.

did you fill the bladder and not the outer tank.. rubber on bottom of tank still there.. releases fluid it you depress the x shape center..

hot water. prime from hose without a tool on it by holding the hose lower than the tank.. put in on a work bench.. hold spray trigger and turn on machine.... read my other posts as well

Bissell carpet cleaner not spraying water out of bladder


my bissell machine was bought 2nd hand and I can see where to put the water in...too complicated...anyone have the bissell proheat pro-tech with scotchgard i believe the model # is 010-5458

I have misplaced the directions for the Bissell powersteamer powerbrush. I need the directions for filling the u tank etc.


Release the handle and lay the machine handle
back to access the Tank.
2. Remove the Tank from the base of the machine by
lifting the Tank carry Handle.
3. Carry like a bucket to the sink. Rotate the Handle
forward to unlatch the lid. Lift off and set the lid aside.
4. Fill up the Bladder with clean hot tap water.
*Do not boil or microwave water as it can
destroy the Bladder.
5.
Replace the top of the Tank by matching the lid
and tank edges. Handle must be in the forward
position in order to replace lid. Rotate the handle
to the carrying position to latch the lid.
Note: Remember to secure the lid and test to
make sure it is secure before picking up the Tank.
6.
Place tank into machine base, seating firmly in place.
Rotate tank handle back into latched position. Bring
machine handle back into upright position.

Lift the formula Tank up and out of the machine base.
2. To fill the Formula Tank, first unscrew the Cap
and Insert. Always use genuine BISSELL formulas
to maximize cleaning and for the safety of your
machine. Fill formula up to the line and replace the
Cap and Insert. Place Formula Tank back into the
base of machine, making sure it is seated securely.
Note: If bottle leaks, check for proper positioning
of red gromment and straw.

The gauge does not work


May have a problem with the cap and valve at the bottom of the tank. Could have a problem with stuff in the lines. Try running a mix of water and vinegar to see if that helps clean it out. Also make sure the tank is all of the way down and seated.
