Question about Jenn-Air JDB6510 Built-in Dishwasher

The dishwasher is not draining out and is overflowing

The dishwasher is not draining and water is overflowing on to the kitchen floor. Does the dishwasher drain with a gravity drain or is there a pump that pumps the water out of the dishwasher? The dishwasher is about 8 years old and it is a Jenn-Air .

Thank you for responding to my questions

Best regards,

There is a pump that pumps the water out. I would think, the pump is blocked, a common thing.. or maybe you have a blocked outlet hose,or the like. or perhaps your hose has fallen down? You need your hose higher than the DW outlet to stop it siphoning.

Above is a DIY self help how to repair dishwashers.

I have had a look for a service manual, but cannot find any info much at all. Sometimes there is a maintenance manual, behind the inspection hatch in your machine, please check.

In the F92-ek commercial dishwasher, what do you use when draining the water ? Is there a hose or something you can connect to the drain pump so the water doesn't go all over the floor?

Commercial dishwashers are designed to drain by gravity to a floor sink. Maybe by hose to some slightly lower receptical, or outside. (Check codes first. EPA)... Buzz

Does not drain

Hello, the problem is gravity. Do the following test: disconnect the drain hose from the PVC drainage. Then bring the end of the drain hose as low as possible closer to the ground, preferably place a tilted bucket so you can catch the water instead of just spilling it on the floor. If the draining occurs, then the issue is gravity.

Solution: lift the dishwasher by placing it on a dolly or wood frame and see if the height is enough for the water to drain itself by gravity force.

Or > install a draining pump. Costly but effective.

Pump continually running with F2 displayed.

There is water in the lower pan that you must access by removing the toe kick plate and then the panel behind it. you will see water in the overflow area. Clean that out and all will be well. Asko's are awesome dishwashers that capture any water they may overflow or leak internally instead of it going on your floor, then a float switch triggers the F2 error and runs the drain pump.

Dishwasher won't drain. Dishes were clean after cycle. How do I manually drain without overflowing?

Hi coxcrewof8,

The easiest way is to lay the drain hose flat on the floor, preferably out a door towards the nearest drain.

Gravity will sort out the rest.

Good Luck

I have a 25 year old KA dishwasher (by Hobart) that is not draining properly. I ran it through a second time and the same thing happened. There is 2" of standing water right now on the floor of the...

The drain usually connects with a flexible plastic hose to the garbage disposal under your kitchen sink. Run the disposal for a minute to see if that unclogs anything.

Remove the hose and blow into it (use a straw and try to make a seal between hose and straw with your hand because old drain pipes taste really bad if you kiss them directly).

Otherwise, your pump may have gond bad - dishwashers do not drain on gravity alone. they all use pumps. Yours may not be worth replacing unless you are really handy and can do it yourself.

Pumps are available and located on the bottom of the unit. Disconnect drain hose. Disconnect circuit breaker. Remove panel by toe-kick and disconnect electical hard-wired connection. Disconnect water (under kitchen sink). Pull it out from under the counter. Order new pump, install and replace. Be careful with the electricity.

Good luck.

It seems like the dishwasher didn't drain and water pours out onto the floor.

might be helpful if you provide the make and model number of the dishwasher.

It is possible either the drain hose has bursted or the kitchen drain is blocked causing the drain water to backflow. Do you hear the drain pump operate?

Too much sink water causes flooding from dishwasher.

If you let it sit with vinegar and it worked after for a while that tells me it may be plugged up with grease. Might be worth while trying to clean it out with Drain O a drain cleaner. Make sure its washed clean after. Grease and dirt builds up after a while in all machines. If vinegar works might be worth cleaning more often.

ASKO D3122 PUMP STAYS ON AND MACHINE WILL NOT SWITCH ON

The machine has activated a safty seq. There is most likely water on the lower buttom. Leakage or drain pipe blocked. The power will get to the drain pump, when this happends. To prevent overflow on your kitchen floor. Dry out the water. Then it will start as usual.

ASKO D3432XLB keeps running, draining but hasn't gone into the wash cycle yet. won't turn off even when I turn the power button off.

Water on lower bottom. Leakage or blocked drain pipe. Is common error. The machine will act like this so that water wont get on your kitchen floor, in case of fault on inlet valve. The machine indicates overflow. Dry out water on bottom, and than the machine will work normaly. But check for leakage. Just in case.
