How to restore system

im assuming you have the recovery disk

Restart the computer and press the pause/break key on the keyboard.

This key will slow down the boot process and allow you to see the motherboard BIOS access key that you'll need to press in order to access the motherboard BIOS.

Press the respective motherboard access key and check the motherboard BIOS for a boot sequence.

Change the settings in the boot sequence so the primary boot device or the first boot drive is the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.

Insert the system recovery disc into the disc drive.

Restart the computer and allow it to boot up before doing anything.

A black screen should show up with the words Press any key to boot from disc CD/DVD.
Press a key to have the system boot from the recovery disc.

Allow the system to load.

Follow the on-screen instructions on how to install the rest of the operating system.

There are many different settings for you to choose.
If the operating system is just a little out of whack, you can choose to repair it.

The system recovery disc will contain important drivers and software for all the components connected to the computer system.

If you do not have a system restore disc you can search the Internet for drivers and software that are packaged for your specific eMachines model.

Restore the BIOS to their default settings so the hard drive is primary boot sequence.

This is an optional step.

You can leave the CD-ROM drive as the primary boot drive, but it will slow down the startup process by a few seconds.

hope this helps

Our playstation 3 does not read any game disc's but we can still access the hard drive?

Since the disc drive and hard drive aren't linked, the disc drive can fail while still allowing you to access all the data on your PS3.

Unfortunately, if the disc reading problems continue, there's very little you can do about it yourself. It's possible the lens reading the discs has becomes smudged. You can try a disc cleaner to see if it helps.

If not, you will likely have to send it in for repairs, which may be expensive. Make sure you backup your saves and other files to a USB drive before sending it. Good luck!

I need something for reading disc

Hi,
To read a disk on a PC most new computers come shipped with a built in Disc drive, normally on the front of your PC there will be a small button that will open the Disc tray and allow you to place the disc in to play on your computer.
If you do not have a disc drive there are various external disc drives available to buy and will connect to your computer through the USB port. Try popular places like amazon.com etc to purchase the external disc drive from.

MY Macbook pro disc drive wont read the Starcraft game discs. Every other cd or dvd i put in the drive at least reads, but when I put in starcraft it just spins for a second, pauses, and spins again...

I was pretty disappointed when I couldn't play a 12 year old game on my new macbook either. The best thing to do is go to battle.net, load up the CD key and then load the software onto your mac. The downside is that you will need internet access before playing even if you play single player. That's the way I got around it.

Im trying to play a dvd and game on my hp dvd player on my laptop and it says there is no disc in the drive?

Clean the disc well and try again. Then try putting another disc in the drive and see if it will read that disc. Try your dvd game disc in another computer and see if it is accessible there. Sounds like the disc drive is possibly bad and can't read the disc properly.

How do i transfer files from a disc to my computer. I have put the cd disc into the cd tray but nothing came up on the monitor

Depends on your your operating system but assuming you are using a version of windows you need to find My computer. This will open a window where you can see your hard drives & CD/DVD drives. Right click the CD drive you want to access and then click "Explore" or "Open" depending on your version of windows. Provided the disc is not damage this will allow you to view the content of the disc & drag it to a folder on your PC.
