Hooooooooooohhh...that's the last thing you want to use on a scanner...will really compromise the mechanism...the mechanism is quite exact in it's lubrication.

is that unit under warranty? that assembly is usually replaced in whole, not in parts.

Be sure to replace glass to test! I wanted to see if the scanner would work...

L1 or L1-00 indicates Scanner movement failure. The scanner is the part under the glass that lights up and moves back and forth. So if you lift up the feeder so you can see the glass, turn the machine off for a few seconds then back on. Watch the movement of the scanner. It should move right and inch or two then back to the left. If all goes well the copier should come to ready. Lay a piece of paper on the glass and press the print button to watch the scanner movement. If it binds up or does not scan correctly there are 2 possibilities.
1) your scanner lock is engaged and is preventing the scanner from moving. Check the clear plastic dial located under the far left upper side of the copier, near where the paper exits the machine. Make sure it is in the unlocked position.
2) Your scanner rail is dirty and dry. This rail can be seen under the glass towards the back of the copier. The scanner rides on this rail. It is very common for these to get dirty and for the grease to dry up causing the scanner to freeze up on the rail. The glass must be removed and the rail cleaned and lubricated.
Just power off then on the copier to reset.
This works in the following models:

Says paper jam but isn t one

It could be as simple as the rollers being dirty and its detecting a timing jam. or it could be that the exit sensor detection arm is stuck or sticking . if it was stuck you couldnt put another document in with out opening and closing the lid it would say jam. really sounds like its really dirty. now if it will run one with no problem its the seperation pad or roller depending on model. it tries to pull other sheet and it fails and shows jam but no paper in the unit . clean your rollers with wd-40 let sit few minutes 2 or 3 and retry. ya i said wd-40 you will be amazed.

Paper jam out cassette

Odds are you are going to have to replace the paper pick up & paper feed and sep. rollers. You can also, try to clean the rollers with a rag with a very little bit of WD-40 and clean the three roller and dry off the WD-40 and see if that solves your problem. Good Luck

Exhaust front pipe nuts rusted on

Try using a size 10 metric thin walled socket drive to fit nut with a little force. Use plenty of WD-40, soak the nut and stud. Try to turn nut for 1/8 turn forward, spray WD-40 then turn bolt back until it feels that it is stuck, turn nut 1/2 turn forward, spray WD-40 and try again to unbolt, everytime it feels it is stuck move nut forward, spray WD-40 then try again to unbolt. It is a slow process as it to prevent stripping the rusted nut and stud. Have fun.
