Question about Kodak ESP 5 Printer

My ESP 5 had a paper jam with photo paper. It took awhile to get the paper out. Once I got it out and replacing the color cartridge that I knew needed replacing, it would not print--except blue. It then told me to replace the black cartridge--I knew it was almost done too. It still will not print anything except in blue. PLEASE HELP! I've been printing pictures for a scrapbook; they are GREAT--even without putting it on "best."

OK, these printer have a bad reputation for all sorts of weird things, what you need to do is get it replaced under warranty, this is a well known about problem, and you need to get a replacement, NOT another one the same, another, almost any other will do. Sorry about that.
These develop these types of faults and have to be returned to the manufacturer for repair, or another agent.

Why does my kodak esp c315 printer keep jamming when I use kodak photo paper


Here is a link to the maual. Be careful about printers. they get dirty fast. The rollers skip and jam up and need to be cleaned. I once found a ribbon in one where a child tried to run it through. If you have had it a while it probally could use a going through.

Keeps coming up printer jammed but no paper in printer


1) Switch off the printer;
2) Try to take out the cartridge, and see if there is paper piece left behind in the rollers since last jam;
3) If you are sure there is nothing paper pieces left, then put back the cartridges in the proper place;
4) Switch on the printer again and try a test print;
5) If it still jam, then you should call a repair technican to fix the real problem which may be caused by the mechanical parts in which you do not have the parts to replace.

Paper jam


You are receiving this error message because there is a paper jam or the top (photo) tray is not securely in position and the printer cannot initialize. This error message can appear for an ESP 7, ESP 9, ESP 7250, or ESP 9250 all-in-one printer.
To resolve a paper jam, we have an easy Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair tool. Within the tool, select All-in-one printer, then Paper jam.

When you clear the paper jam:
  1. Make sure you open the paper output tray and inspect the top tray for photo paper that could be jammed inside or that remains in the nip at the entrance.
  2. Pull out the bottom paper tray and clear any paper jams.
  3. Remove the duplexer from the back of the printer and clear any paper jam.
NOTE: Curled photo paper could induce a paper jam. To prevent curling:
  • Store un-printed paper in a tightly closed plastic bag or in its original packaging.
  • Store sealed packages of paper flat, and not on
  • When you are ready to print, take only the paper intend to use immediately.
To remove curl in photo paper:
  1. Place the paper in a plastic bag or in its original packaging.
  2. Gently bend the paper in the opposite direction of the curl, then insert it into a tube-a paper towel tube works well.

    NOTE: The tube should be larger than 1.5 in. (4 cm) in diameter.
  3. After a few minutes, remove the paper from the tube.
  4. Remove the paper from the plastic bag or packaging.
  5. Verify that the curl has been removed from the paper. Repeat the steps above if necessary.
If the top paper tray is not securely in position and the printer cannot initialize (you may hear a grinding noise, and the top paper tray will not open), contact Kodak.

I have Kodak esp 5 all in one- says I have paper jam--- but no paper inside


f you have tried the Kodak standard instructions for clearing the paper jam problem and it did not help try the procedure below. Works for esp 7.
1. Open the printing area of the printer (containing the ink cartridges).
2. The Ink cartridge holder should be to right side of track.
3. Look on left side, below the track for the cartridge that is used to
clean the print heads.It can be identified by a square black pad
approx. 1" sqaure that appears to be made of "felt".
If it is visible this is most likely your problem.
4. To correct problem locate the flat latching lever approx. 3/4" wide that
sticks up about 1/2" above the cartridge. It is locacted just behind
the "felt" square. Gently push lever toward rear which should free the
cleaning cartridge and allow the entir cartridge to move slightly
backward.
5. Close the top of the printer and cycle the printer off and back on.
If this is the problem, the "paper jam" error will now be gone.
This is such a simple fix I do not know why kodak does not inform
customers of this problem and how to fix it.

Changing the black cartridge also require change of color


The printer is very good.I ve been using it for approx 1 year now.The printer works on a combination of both black as well as colour ink cartridges.If any of the cartridge is empty,printer will not print.Kindly call Kodak with your problems at 1800 421 6699 and they will take care of the issue for you.

Its saying paper jam when iv only just installed it and i have not evan put any paer in yet. help me please this is a kodak esp.3


Hello,

It means it has "paper jam"error message. This is a common issue w/ the ESP printers of Kodak especially if its brand new.


Try the steps below.


1.Open the printer access door.
2.Remove the black and color ink cartridges.
3.Reseat the printhead.

a. Lift the printhead release latch
b. Reseat the printhead, pushing firmly on the white label on the printhead (if provided) or the center of the printhead, until it clicks into place.

NOTE: You may also visit www.kodak.com/go/printheadsupport for demonstration on reintalling the printhead

4. Close the access door.
5. wait for the printer to initialize.

If issue persists, the printer itself needs to be replaced. Call 1.800.421.6699

Paper jam error light on kodak esp 5


  1. Remove the paper tray.
  2. Disconnect the power cord, wait 5 seconds, then reconnect the power cord.
    NOTE: The printer will reset and eject the paper. If the paper does not eject, try to remove it manually.
  3. Replace the paper tray.
  4. Press the Print button on the printer to resume printing.

My Kodak ESP5 keeps saying "Paper Jam please remove paper jam" But there is no paper in it?


My esp 5 gave me this same message. I'm not an expert but here is what worked for me.

I turned off and disconnected both cables (usb and power) then reconnected and turned on.
At this point it still read paper jam, so I took ink cartridges out and paper out.
I then reinstalled ink cartridges and PULLED OUT THE PAPER TRAY to it's FULL capacity, added about 5 sheets of paper, and on the main menu I chose the allignment function and printed a test page and suddenly....no jam!
Hope this works for someone. For some reason pulling the tray all the way out cleared the "jam" message for me. Now if I could just get the new ink cart to work I'd be all set! Good Luck!
