If you go to www.hp.com, click on support, enter your model (PSC 1350) and then some key words about the problem, you'll find a troubleshooting guide that tells you what to do.
However, if you can't be bothered, simply invoke the scanning function manually. Go to: Start -> My Computer -> Scanner and then the Windows Scanner Wizard will pop up, and you can scan from there...
