Ok I''m assuming the pump is mounted higher than the water level in the pool. This means it needs to be primed. If everything is air tight, it should be self priming. Check to be sure your piping is open from the skimmer to the pump and not clogged. You can put a garden hose into the suction line of the pump and feel for flow coming up out of the bottom of the skimmer. If that is ok, then fill the pump strainer basket with water. Be sure filter is selected to filter. Make sure that the basket cover is tight to the cover gasket. After filling basket with water, quickly close the cover and start pump. If it still doesn't work, fill the basket again with water and check for any leaks. If the mechanical seal is leaking, it will not self prime. I'm not sure what type of pump you have, but Hayward has complete manuals for their pumps on www.haywardnet.com. Most pumps work about the same. GOOD LUCK!

IRobot Mirra 530 Tips & Tricks

Tips from iRobot Resources:

Run Mirra only when in the water.
Mirra has a very strong motor system that needs to stay cool for optimal performance and life. Your pool water around the motor helps keep it cool during operation. Therefore Mirra should not be run outside of the pool due to the risk of overheating the motor.

Choose the correct filter canister.
Use the Large Debris Filter Canisters when the pool contains a significant amount of large debris (leaves, insects, etc.) and when the pool is opened for the season or cleaning during the Fall. The Fine Filter Canisters are ideal for filtering small debris such as algae, sand, silt and bacteria and for regular pool cleaning maintenance during the peak of your pool season.

Keep Mirra working at peak performance.
Mirra uses the powerful force of water pumped through its filter to clean and circulate pool water and to propel itself around your pool. It pumps and filters more than a gallon of water every second! Clean the filter canisters regularly by removing them from Mirra, emptying its contents and hosing it out. Keeping the filter canisters clean will ensure optimal cleaning results and strong pump suction.

Allow the motor to cool before removing the robot from the pool.
Mirra's power supply has an automatic timer that shuts Mirra off after each cleaning cycle. Wait 20 minutes before removing Mirra from the pool to allow the pump motor to cool. Turn the power supply off and unplug it from the electrical outlet before removing Mirra from the pool.

My oase250 has stopped drawing water into the basket have clean in side please help

check the lid for cracks, you can wrap electrical tap around plumbing fittings on the suction side to see if you have a fitting leak or the impeller might be plugged with debris, you will need to slit the pump to check this. is all else fails search your area for your local pool pump motor repair guy with free testing. and bring the pump in for inspection

Pump runs but humms

Question:

What do I do if my pool/spa pump is humming and has low flow?

Answer: by Osko Pool n Spa Pool/Spa Pump Humming and No Flow If your Swimming Pool or Spa Pump Motor is humming and/or has very little or no water flow, please follow the following directions.
1) Remove the pump motor from the system.
2) Disassemble the front half of the Pump Pot Housing from the back half.
3) Check for any foreign obstructions which would jam the Impeller and remove it
4) Next, inspect the Pump Motor Impeller itself. (This is a high suspect part). See if there is any sign of wear or breakage. (This happens over time from debris in the water passing over the impeller). If so, your Impeller is damaged and requires replacement.
5) Next, remove the cover from the rear of the Pump Motor. Using a large standard blade, (straight), screwdriver or wrench... turn the main motor shaft. Listen for grinding and/or rumbling and feel for any restrictions while turning. If you hear or feel either, your bearings and/or brushes are damaged and need replacement.
If everything seems to be in good working order, then you need a new pump... not just replacement parts.

My Dolphin pool cleaner runs fine along the bottom of the pool but will stop and shut down when it ties to climb the side of the pool. If I move it away from the wall it will run around until it moves to...

The control board inside the motor pack is failing as the sensor for the units orientation is included on that board. The only way to fix it is a new motor pack. Spa - Low water flow

Split the pump. if you don't have a leaf/pump basket then your pump inpeller is propably dirty, you'll need a very thin screwdriver to clean the holes inside the impeller

Onga pool pump running but not drawing water from pool

Take out the pump pot basket and stick your finger in the hole towards the motor (make sure the motor won't kick on!!). What you should feel is the impeller. It has five grooves in the face of it and each one needs to be cleaned of foilage and debris. With every hole clogged in the impeller you lose 20% of your motors effeciency. With whisperflow brand the pump pot basket is poorly designed where debris like pine needles go straight through.
