Why does my tv turn off automaticly

Some tvs have a sleep timer on it and if it is accidently programmed the tv will turn off at a certain time. You may want to look at the users manual for more info. Or call a local place that fixs tv's for some more input before paying someone or getting a new tv. I had a tv once and it did the same think. I had to get into the menu with the remote and figure it out it had something to do with a set sleep timer so the tv would shut off at a certain time if the timer was set. It sucks if you dont have a remote though hopefully you do. Good luck. M Some tvs have a sleep timer on it and if it is accidently programmed the tv will turn off at a certain time. Tv turns itself off after turning it on

Check SMPS circuit.
Check for dry capcitors. Replace OPTO coupler in the feed back circuit in SMPS.

Do not switch ON TV without opto coupler fixed in circuit.

SMPS will go out of control and the + DC voltage will raise infinitely and damage the other parts. If transistors used along with the opto coupler, check them for leakage. Replace them. Otherwise the replaced opto coupler may fail again after few days or few hours of TV working.

Tv won't turn on

could just be a fuse problem or something more exspensive you can have a repair guy come to your home and diagnose the problem dont pay any more than 35 dollars to have someone out to your home if they want more than that make sure if you chose to have the work done that they deffer the consultation fee for the repair. any more than 35 dollars and it souds like they know its gonna be exspensive to fix.

You have problems with your power supply filters. I'd suggest you to change the mainfilter, that is the capacitor just after the ac rectifier and the b+ filter, that is the capacitor at the output of the smps, and then vertical filter and video filter. These are all capacitors with higher microfarad ratings, if you are not much comfortable, it's better to get some help from someone who is familiar with these. Pay attention not to reverse the polarity when changing the capacitors.

1) Could be bad CRT ( picture tube )===no green==purple.

 2) Might be lack of green drive to CRT==bad transistor.

Recommend analysis by technician--usually worth it if CRT ok.

Hello bashlort, The increase in voltage may be to some circuit loading being removed this is a sign that something may have increased in resistance or something may have opened in the attached circuit. Have you taken any voltage measurements in the video section of the set, if not check the voltages on the pins of the video processor IC and follow the connections up to the CRT socket, be sure to pay special attention to the focus and screen grid voltages. If those are ok check the voltages in the horizontal section including oscilloscope measurements for drive signals. Please inform me of your findings. Thank you, Shuttle83

I am having this same problem. It seemed to clear up on its own at first, but it has since returned. It seems to occur most often after the TV has been on for a couple of hours. I contacted Sony Tech cupport and they recommend having the set serviced. I haven't yet, since it seemed to "fix itself," but now that the issue has resurfaced I'm likely to take it in unless someone has a suggestion as to what is causing it, and how to resolve it.

Tv no start up, fuses ok.

Telling someone to get professional help would be the obvious response from a TV repairman who wants to charge someone at least half the cost of TV replacement to fix it. People get on here so the can try and avoid the high cost of tv repair. How about giving advice on how to fix it which is why the got on here to begin with.
