Audio problem... channel with no sound

I bought the TV and I watch the local HD channels. One of my channels lost audio for some reason after a few months but I didn't really care since it was a hispanic channel that I don't usually watch. I even thought it was a problem with the TV station. But now another channel has the same problem. It is completely muted and I have no idea why. It happen all the sudden last month and it haven't recover itself. what can I do?

I double checked it already. It is set to Stereo. Please let me know if there is a SAP disable option. Actually right now I have 3 channels with problem. They recently added a new channel. 42-1 with English AC3, 62-1 Spanish AC3 and 62-2 Spanish AC3.

Make sure your S.A.P feature is turned off. S.A.P. stands for separate audio program.

I can get a picture , but no sound on the TV . What am I doing wrong?

Many RCA TV sound problems are caused by SAP function being activated by TV station equipment that converts Analog TV signals to HD signals. Accidental pressing of the wrong buttons on your remote can also cause this problem.

The incorrect conversions causes the Audio settings to be changed from Stereo to SAP by the received signal.

Solution is to go to Audio set-up in customer menu and change settings from SAP to Stereo. If you find that settings are wrong, change them to "Stereo". Do channel scan if you are using the TV tuner/remote to select channels. Turn off the TV and unplug for 60 seconds. Check the settings again and reset if required.

This problem may re-occur when you select the VHF channel, satellite channel or cable box channel that is causing the problem. It is not a TV fault that can be repaired. The problem is caused by the incorrect incoming signal.

SAP is Second Audio Program, used for second language transmissions.

Second cause may be that the speakers have been turned off in the audio set-up menu.

I have a Star Choice canadian Satellite and hooked up the DVI to the HDMI on my Tv I get a great HD picture but no sound i tried the Audio cable as per the instructions but still no sound will i need a...

dvi is just video. hdmi has both video and audio. dvi is still used because it is a standard for computers.

connect the audio from the audio rca jack to your TV / speakers. If you have surround sound you should use the SPDIF optical audio port - it'll be cleaner and support all channels.

Remember audio has to go to an amplifier or all-in-one box, which goes to your speakers. If your speakers are built into your tv you should be able to plug it in directly and then select the audio channel on your TV. If you plug it in and you still don't hear anything it's a problem with selecting the correct audio input on your TV / amplifier

NO HDTV

There are many variables here that could cause the problem. I can receive a few local HD channels ( within about 60 miles ) on my 57H94. I am not aware of any "HD specific" settings- it's all part of the receiving circuits in the TV. The first thing I would look at is to be sure you have a secure antenna connection. Then be sure you have selected the correct antenna input on the TV (there are two). HD channels, as an example will show up as 10-1, 10-2, etc. Most TVs have different sensitivity thresholds, regardless of size. Usually digital signals, including HD, are either there or not. In most cases if a TV picks up a decent analogue signal, a digital set should receive the digital signal, including available HD channels, as well. If you are going to use an antenna, rather than cable or satellite, try to get the best antenna you can afford, that will meet your physical requirements ( indoor / outdoor,etc.). Keep in mind that not all digital TV signal are HD. All of our local stations in this area transmit a digital signal, but true HD broadcasts remain variable. I hope this has helped in some way-Good Luck!

A DVI cable does not have an audio connection, along with the DVI you still have to run an audio line from the device (DVD player, cable box, satellite receiver) to the TV. HDMI contains both audio and video.

How are you hooked up? I.E. terrestrial, satellite, ?

If the channel on HD isn't strong enough to pull the signal, sound won't play because it isn't locked. Because you have sound on non hd it is a signal issue not the tv.
