Question about Whirlpool Calypso GVW9959K Top Load Washer
Washer won't start because it says that the lid isn't closed, but it is
On the lid there will/should be a plastic pin that depresses the lid open interlock. If is broken off you get what you describe. Solution: With the lid open start a cycle and depress the micro switch using something like a pecil or plastic rod. You should find that the washer will start. Remove the pencil/rod and it will stop. If the factory rod is there it or the switch is not adjusted enough to trip the lid interlock. Replace or adjust.
