Display screen is flashing

It is showing the software/firmware version--seems you may have by accident gotten into a place you should not be in---best answer is get LG on the phone with model number and the V3 information---I doubt anyone here will resolve this issue instantly.

If set turns on with the power button on set the remote is : not set to TV, not programmed for the set, has bad batteries or is bad.

If it even works one function it may need to be reprogrammed or taken apart to see if works---you can test the remote by pointing it at a digital camera with a LCD screen and pressing buttons to see if it makes the screen flash on the camera.

Test the remote first

Topside control is in "Locked" mode.
If you accidentally locked your control

Hold temperature UP & DOWN together for 6 seconds.
or
Balboa 7 button controls, both buttons to the left of the display screen & down temperature.
or
One of the buttons might be stuck in the down position

The problem might be cause by lamp error, need to access the service mode to change the value of lamp error code to zero (0). Entering service mode requires a trained TV technician. Changing data can cause more problem to your television. If you are not qualified to service your television, please do not go to service menu codes. Moreover below are the process, pls do so at your own risk.

* Unplug the TV
* Press and hold the {VOL -} + {CH+} buttons located on LCD TV unit (not in remote control) Note: If above didn't work, alternately use (VOL -) + (TV/AV input) buttons located on LCD TV unit (not in remote control)
* While holding the above buttons, plug in the TV.
* The TV will turn on with the "K" or "K123" appears om screen.
* Use {CH+} {CH -} buttons to go and display the service menu. Note: If above didn't work, alternately use (VOL -) + (CH -) buttons. * Search for "LAMP ERROR menu" from the displayed service menu by using "up or Down cursor" from remote control, or alternatively use "CH - or CH+ to select "LAMP ERROR" * change it to zero (0) value, using {VOL+} or (VOL -) on remote control. * Turn the set off to exit the Service Menu.

You mean to say you bought a $ 300.00 recorder and didn't take the batteries out during the long time storage?
Hopefully the batteries didn't leak all over the place.

Did you at least try to use new batteries? Two good AAAs can't be very expensive.

Is your LG unit new, or have you had it some time? If the later, it could be capacitor failure, which can cause all kinds of issues. I had an LG DVD HDD recorder which had a similar problem, except the LG logo didn't flash on screen. Does your unit have a hard disk? The prblem with mine was that the machine would not boot. Eventually, even th date display went, and it would not start. Replacing a bank of capapcitors solved he problem. I didn't have the equipment, but a repair engineer did it for £25in less than an hour.

Are you holding enter and channel number at the same time for about 2-5 seconds

there are online screensharing tools available but you have to provide me a fix time i can explain how will this gonna work
while i have the control over your system you will be seeing wot i see and at anypoint of time if you think you need the control back you can use the mouse i'll loose control

I think if you push the heated wash and heated dry buttom several times until all the buttoms light up this may fix your problem.
You may have different kind of light flashing indicator, but the same solution.
Possibly check the sequence switch
