Question about Sony KDF46E2000 46" Projection HDTV
I have not repaired this particular model. Some of the problems for refusing to stay on are....Your color wheel may have lost its RPMs and or the cooling fan may be running slow. It is essential the fan is running at high speed. Without proper cooling your set may shut down. The power supply to the fan may also need a capacitor and resistor replaced to sustain speed in addition to replacing this fan! And when you replace the lamp be sure you do not use your bear hands to install this. Use a pair of plastic gloves or a clean pair of cotton ones. The oils on your hand to the bulb will shorten its life. I offer food for thought.....Hope this will clue you in a repair. Thanks for asking!
