Cold water filter is clogged - how to clean?

We had to "bleach" our well recently - that lead to magnesium flakes in water (little black flecks) which clogged the cold water intake on the back of the machine. It doesn't seem to be removable to clean -- so the cold water "drips" in -- hot is working fine... How do we do a thorough cleansing of the intake filter?

Black flakes from jets

It is biofilm growing inside your plumbing. The black flakes are most likely biofilm. Check out specific cleaners designed to remove that crud. The best is called OH YUK

Black flakes

Chances are what you are seeing is not mold, but deteriorated insulation from the inside of the unit being ejected out the air discharge.

You may need to partiallly disassemble the front of the unit and find the area where the insulation may be damaged. If it's badly deteriorated, it may need to be replaced. In some units, the insulation is glued. In others, it's clipped in.

If it's just bruised, then a small piece of metal screening (1/8" or 1/4" hardware cloth) can be placed and secured over the damaged area to prevent subsequent damage and the black flecks you are witnessing.

I have a Hotpoint Model HDA 110S-45WA. I have

If the flecks are as thin as a paint film, then they are most likely old dried-up food and garbage debri that has lodged itself in the crevices of the water jet paths. But, they usually only show when the dish washer sits for a long time unused, and then after such period, when you begin use, these pieces begin to flake off and of course show up. hey eventually stop. If it is pieces that are hard and rather thick, then it icould be shavings from the pump/grinder assembly within the dishwasher sump (pit ) area, and this is telling you that there is something lodged down there,or something is wearing loose and most likely there is some nosie associated with this (other thanthe normal running noise). Undissolved minerals can appear when ice cubes are added to chilled drinking water. Freezing tap water causes dissolved minerals to solidify and scatter, giving a cloudy appearance. When ice cubes melt, any undissolved minerals settle to the bottom. These mineral compounds in our drinking water are naturally occurring and safe.
Sometimes we see black particles which can be the non-stick surface of the ice mold flaking off.

Bosch Washing Machine Softener Tray not emptying

You need to replace the cold water inlet valve. If the machine is older than one year it may be clogged on the side that moderates the cold water to the bleach and softener compartment. Replacing the valve fixed the problem. During the cycle when the softener dispenser fills it should fill quickly and no or little water should be seen in the soap dispenser area. If a lot of water goes into the soap dispense and little into the softener area the valve is clogged.

LG Tromm Not Dispensing Bleach

My wife has been complaining that the bleach and fabric softener dispenser still had water in it after washing. After removing the top to the washer I found that there are 4 components to the dispenser. 1. the solenoid (part of a 3 solenoid bundle) for the cold water, 2 the controller to the solenoid 3. The hose from the solenoid to the dispenser, and 4. The dispenser. After checking that there were no kinks in the hoses. I checked the solenoid found it had power at the right time but the flow was low. I shut off all the water and disconnected the lines going into the back of the washer I found that the cold water filters were clogged. After cleaning them (there were 2 for each hot and cold) The washer worked correctly.
