First, start your pc and as soon as you see something on the screen start hitting the F8 key. This will bring up a boot option list. Try the option " Last known good configuration". If your pc boots up all the way, do a syatem restore.Try to think of when you got the virus. Pick a day about two days before that for your restore. Go to Start> Programs>accessories>system tools>system restore. Do the restore. This should get you fixed up. If this solves your problem please rate this as fixed. If not, don't rate yet, just add a comment letting me know what happened and I'll be happy to help you further. Thanks. Let me know what happens.

Double check connectors to the monitor at the back of the computer (if there is more than 1 check the correct one is being used) and also the back of the monitor. Try using a spare cable if you have one to eliminate that problem too.

It does seem like a mechanical fault rather than a software fault as you should get something even if it is only the bios start up screen!

Computer has blue screen nothing comes up no way to get into the computer had an id error and now just blue screen

Some of the files had crashed... from that 120 tabs, I'm sure it's caused by a virus... Try booting on your windows original CD or Windows installer and choose Recover windows... It it does not work... you'll have to re-install everything and you'll loose most of the files. But if it works, immediately use System Restore and choose a date that you think that your computer was in a very good condition. Good Luck!!!

W32/blaster worm, how to unlock frozen screen

repeatedly press f8 after youve pushed the power button. this will start your pc in safe mode. click the start menu and in the run box type ( msconfig ) only using the letters m,s,c,o,n,f,i,g. then select the startup tab located at the top center of the popup screen. you will then see a list of items with a check mark located next to each of them or just some of them. unchech each one and then hit apply. you will then be prompted to restart your system. let it startup normally. you will get a prompt telling you your system has been changed to a selective startup. just check the box and choose it not to prompt you again. this should allow you to boot up and use your anti virus program to remove the virus threat.

you will no longer see some of the icons in the lower right hand corner of your screen as a result of unchecking those items, but they will still function properly without any issues.

below , i have included a link that will provide you with a w32/blaster worm removal tool. download the program to your desktopp the doublle click the icon to run the tool. this wiull be extremely helpfull if your AV software is out of date or already corrupted by the worm itself. a blaster worm has the potential to completely disable your current AV program, so id for sure try it first as a definate removal result.

if you need any further assistance in helping you with this , please feel free to contact me via

My computer turns on widows screen pops up then entire screen turns black

You have a virus. Try to hit F8 before/during the windows logo. and start in safe mode. Do a system restore. IF not boot from your windows disk and repair windows. once up and running again. google panda scan do an online scan (free) which will tell you where the virus is for u can go and delete it. If you have more than 10 infections i suggest to dump the system. The panda scan will not get rid of it but will offer some help.

Computer has viruses which might be why it has a the blue screen

Try entering safe mode and doing the virus scan:
  • Switch on your PC
  • Before the Windows Logo screen appears press F8 to get the startup options menu
  • Chose Safe Mode
  • Once your computer boots, run AVG and let it remove all the viruses. Reboot and it should go into Windows as normal. You might have to rerun the scan a few times to get rid of everything but it should do the job.

Cannot open C: drive by double click

you have a virus. i encountered the same problem on a HP Pavillion desktop, its a trojan type virus that hides in your recycler folder, you need to run Avira Anti Virus, its the only one ive found that can get rid of it, you can get it free at or you can reformat your harddrive and do a clean re install of windows but then you lose everything on your pc. try running avira, if that doesnt work you may want to consider reformatting. the recycler folder is supposed to be in windows but the virus hides itself in the folder, im not exactly sure what it does but i know it will restrict your access to the c drive until you remove it, you cant just delete it either, it will show back up in like 2 minutes, also be careful with flash drives, removable usb storage, it will put itself on those drives also and infect other computers that you plug them in to unless you remove it from the flash drive then disconnrct the flash drive but be quick so it doesnt re appear on the flash.
