Question about Whirlpool 25.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with In-Door-Ice Dispensing System
Our house was hit with a power surge problem when a transformer was knocked over. Like many of our neighbors, we suffered damage to some of our electrical equipment, but not all. We've had all the problems checked out except two, but before I go calling repair, I wanted opinions on whether these problems could have been caused by the power surge.
The water dispenser on our Whirpool refrigerator now has a longer delay between the time you press the lever and the time the water comes out. I've read elsewhere on this board about the problem possibly being a valve or a solenoid. Would a power surge cause the delay problem, or would it have wiped it out completely?
The second possible problem is also a delay problem. When I press the On button on our Sears Kenmore front-loading washing machine, it seems to take a little longer to start.
Neither problem seems to be getting any worse. Opinions?
Yes these appliance may have been affected by a power surge. dont think the solenoid would be but any electronics can be. there will most likely be a burn mark on the boards but not always.
