Question about Panasonic PT-D5700U Projector

1 Answer

I'm trying to switch to a 16:9 aspect ratio, but when I go to the Position menu, the only thing it allows me to change is the Keystone, it's as if all the other keys are locked on that menu. The only thing different is that i'm using a a 1.3-1.8 lens on this particular projector whereas the other two projectors I have are using a 1.8-2.5 lens and can do it just fine. I tried switching the lens to one of these projectors and I had the same problem.

I'm trying to change aspect ratio from 16-9 to 4-3 on dxc-d30ws

get the onscreen menu up and alter aspect ratio settings
as the ratios are changed you will see the screen change to suit the new ration
it it is a late led type you may have to select the pixel sizes to get the screen size to change

Black bars show up when not in HD

Sounds like you've changed the aspect ratio to a 4:3 and you need to put it back to a 16:9. Go into your menu and find the sub menu that allows you to change "format" or "aspect ratio". Adjust that until you have it at 16:9 and see if that corrects your problem. Good Luck Bill

DOES NOT FILL SCREEN HORIZONTALLY

You can change how your tv displays in the video setting menu under display. You will have a choice between 4:3, 16:9, 16:10, cinema or automatic. I think to fill your screen the best you should choose 16:10 but this is not going to guarantee that all channels will fill the screen. It still has to do with how it is being broadcast to you.

How do you change the stills function from 4.3 to 16.9 its really not very clear?

Hi
Having looked at the full manual - downloaded from here and savable:
http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com/docs/2z54662404z3z38916z656ez706466z22zdf06e277f71e6367f9e09db70241478cb0ad23ae/tsn3/data/ALL/HXWA30EG/OI/902781/vqt4x32.pdf
I think you will find that you cannot actually change from 4:3 to 16:9 aspect ratio for a particular pixel sized picture. When you set the pixels for the picture you want, the aspect ratio is set automatically.
For example:
16Megapixels 4608x3456 4:3
12Megapixels 4608x2592 16:9
See page 96 of the manual mentioned above for a full table of Megapixels, size, ratio etc
Therefore changing the picture size from the simple menu changes the aspect ratio but you do not have control of the aspect ratio for each size, in other words you cannot take a 16Megapixel picture at 16:9, it has to be 4:3.
Hope this has been helpful
Cheers

LG 47'' LCD HDTV 120Hz - Incorrect Picture Width

I just had this problem and got it solved. The issue is that your cable box is likely set to the wrong aspect ratio, so your tv will not be able to display the picture properly without this setting changed. On my cable box(Pace), you need to turn the power off to the cable box using the remote. Then hit the menu button on the remote and a new menu will appear on the screen. Change the aspect ratio to 16:9 and you should be all set. Hope this works for you too.

LG 32'' LCD TV aspect ratio self switching

I have an LG LCD TV with the same problem.
The solution is to go to
MENU
OPTIONS
FACTORY RESET
And select HOME rather than STORE on initial setup.
Mine was set to store as it was a display model.
That means that whatever picture setting you make they will reset after 10 minutes.
