The clutch pedal action has become stiff suddenly. the clutch takes in the middle. what can I do to fix it?

Is it hydraulic if not the slave cylinder may be going this is caused by constantly leaving your foot rested on the clutch pedal dont do that so it may go at any time

Every time I start the car the brakes are super stiff and pedal is hard to push with very slow stopping but after I brake several times it gets better but is still pretty scary at first.

With the engine off, put your foot on the brake pedal and press down. The pedal should go nowhere. With foot still pressing on pedal, start the car. The pedal should move down. If not, could be an issue with the servo such as a cracked / leaking air hose or an issue with the master cylinder seals.

Brake pedal is stiff when off and goes tt floor when running is it booster or master cylinder

Well stiff or a hard pedal when the engine is off is normal.
Pedal going to floor is a faulty master cylinder or low on fluid, or air in the lines.

The handwheel will turn manually but it will not move using the foot pedal. The sound it makes when I press on the foot pedal *sounds* like I am filling the bobbin.

Power failure when braking problem

sounds like your power assist vacuum unit is dead. i.e. your power brakes. pump your brake pedal 3 times and hold it. turn on engine-if the pedal sinks to floor its the brake master cylinder, if it pulses and comes up with your foot on it its its neither but if it stays right where it is>? BINGO-power assist! good luck.

2007 gmc canyon sputters like it is going to cut off when applying brakes sometimes hard to start. just changed plugs and air filter . could it be brake booster or something else

if I say possible servo booster is faulty,surely you will feel it on the brake pedal ( stiff ),or the engine running would be erratic.the other alternative situation is the pipe( hose ) which is connected with inlet manifold and servo booster and inside has the check valve probably is faulty. Test : off engine,pump brake pedal several times till gets stiff. Keeping your foot on brake pedal start the engine and if your servo works fine then the pedal goes a bit down,if not will not move at all. If the engine is running erraticly then with engine off, remove the pipe connecting manifold and servo block the pipe you remove from servo side,block it and start the engine,If engine run fine,then you must confirm whether is the servo or the check valve hose. For the check valve hose how to check,just put in your mouth the servo side pipe and blow into,if the air goes in the engine means that the check valve is broken and you must renew the pipe with check valve,if on blowing into will not allow air to get through,means is ok and the servo is the fault. That sounds dangerous.. Find where the cable from the pedal come to the throttle body, undr the hood.. You should see the cable where it wraps over a grooved wheel which operates the throttle opening.

With the engine off, use your fingers operate the wheel to see if it is stiff. You will see the cable slack and loop a little, make sure it sits back in the groove when you are done.

You are looking to see if the wheel hesitates in returning to normal position by spring pressure. Possibly the sping is broken? If the wheel moves and returns without stiffness or hesitation, then the problem is in the cable.. Dry cable and guide. This is hard to lube, likey needs to be replaced.

If the wheel is stiff and sticky, then the throttle body linkage is the issue. Try cleaning the linkage librally with carb cleaner. Avoid getting much in the intake.

What do i do about a stiff gas pedal?

Disconnect the cable from the pedal and see it goes down free, if so its not the pedal. probably the cable.

Try the following to confirm if is the servo unit .( engine off,pump few times the brake pedal to become stiff.Keeping pressed the pedal start the engine and if servo is working you will feel the pedal slightly goes down.If not will not move at all-remain stiff.) Also if you do have the check valve close to servo not working you can realize it by the engine idle ( erratic ) and the servo not working.The other possibility if the vehicle is fitted,the ABS unit itself.
