Try to take the pilot assbly apart and cleanit by blowing through the line. the smallest little bits of dust can cause it not to light the pilot. look for cabon build up on assbly. if you get that clean and doesnt work. probably not getting gas from valve and it is bad.

I have an Atwood waterheater model # G6A-8E. I am having issues with no spark from the ignitor , I have used a long stem lighter to light the burner. It lights and burns well for a couple second seconds...

When you turn it on and hear the ignitor clicking, test for 12 volts at power wire to gas valve. If your not getting 12 VDC to gas valve when ignitor is sparking, replace module.

Pilot light will not light push the ignitor button, but no spark, maybe one in 20-30 strikes do i get a spark.

the sparkers do go bad and usually can be replaced. you should be able to light the pilot by hand with a long lighter that is used to light a grill.

The electric strike on my cook top wont stop striking even after the pilot lights or the gas is shut off. I have to unplug it to stop.

The problem is in the pilot ignitor Located under top, unplug the unit before replacing it. Write down all of the information ,mode, serial, and product number and name of stove. If you can get a part number, this would be very helpful. Take this to a local appliance parts house and they can help you.

Kenmore waterheater piezo innotor won't re-light

air in the line, disconnect the pilot supply and hold the button until you smell gas coming from the valve, that will remove the air, as for the igniter, test it by removing the connection and hold it about 1/8" away from the conenction and click it, should see a spark

Kenmore gas oven won't light. The pilot light is on but no gas. What do I do?

Put a torch on the probe. If the flame comes on them the thermocouple is weak.If nothing at all replace the safety valve. That is if you have a standing pilot. If you pilot is an electric one then it should be so bright it is hard to look at but if it is dim orange it is weak.

Raypak 207a ignition issue

Is the ignitor sparking when it clicks?  If no spark then bad ignitor.  Is gas flowing to pilot?  If no gas then clogged line or bad pilot gas valve.

I have an old ideal elan 2 boiler. The pilot light has gone out and wont re-ignite. I have pressed the ignition switch in but there is not even a spark. Does anybody know where the re-set button is on...

Hi, to light the pilot you must first ensure the gas valve button (Grey with 3 symbols on it) is placed in the ignition position, then, while holding the button in towards the gas valve depress the orange ignitor button several times, hold the gas valve button in for about 30 seconds once the pilot lights. If it fails to light and you cannot see a spark when you depress the ignition button the cable could be faulty, the ignitor corroded or damaged or the pilot could be blocked or the gas turned off. If it is an Elan 2 CF boiler there is no reset button.

Getting to the Pilot

Your model JGBP28DED2WH uses spark ignition on the stove top burners, and a glow bar ignitor, part number WB2X9154 for the oven and broiler. To get to the bake ignitor if oven will not light: Take the racks out of the oven. Remove oven floor by removing two screws at back of oven floor and lifting floor. Remove the square metal flame spreader to get to the burner / ignitor assembly. (note: The ignitor may still glow when you try it, but usually is still the problem)

Waterheater pilot will not stay lit would like to know if the gas jet fails?

If there is no air in the gas line, then at pilot lighting you should smell gas, if not then yes your valve failed. But if it's not igniting, then your lucky and all you have to do is replace the ignitor. you should be able to stick a match in there unless it's enclosed. Be carefull!
