If the mechanical lever is still working to make the cup ****, I would sujest you first clean the cup and the windscreen and then what I do with mine is lick the cup before sticking it on the screen. Works every time for me in the works van and my car.

TomTom does not stick to window any longer

That is pretty typical.

If you want to mount it to the window, then make sure the glass surface is completely clean. A generous amount of saliva on the suction cup will keep it up on the glass for a while.

You are better off using the adhesive backed suction cup disks and mount it to your dashboard.

Suction cup does not hold device.

If the suction cup material is "old" , dry / hard, or the lever (that creates the suction) isn't working well, there's probably not much you can do to make it stick. Otherwise, consider adding some moisture (e.g. a very fine film of water) to the suction surface. It may work better. If it sticks well, avoid taking it off and putting it back on too frequently.

WIll not adhere to the windshield... suction cup does not hold GPS

Tomtom GPS devices come with a variety of windshield suction mounts. All have in common that the windshield and the suction cup both must be clean; use a mild soap dispersed in some warm water to remove any dirt. Rinse properly. Sometimes it helps to keep the cup a little moist.

Make sure the cup is not warped due to previous exposure to heat, and check for any nicks in the rubber. Small damage may easily make the mount unusable and you'd need to get a replacement.

Models with a lever mechanic: open the lever (cup becomes flat), press the cup against the windshield and while keeping pressure, close the lever. It will lift the middle of the cup away from the windshield, causing a vacuum.

Models with a ring around the cup base: Turn the ring all the way counter-clockwise (cup becomes flat), press cup against windshield and while keeping pressure, turn the ring clockwise 90 degrees. This requires some force, but in my experience these mounts stick more reliable,

Suction cup does not stick to the base of the tom tom..Everytime I try to attach the suction cup, it just falls over. Help

  1. If you will stick the suction cup to your windshield make sure to clean it first use dry clothe and put pressure while rubbing it to the windshield.
  2. After cleaning it before you stick the suction cup to the windshield make sure the lock is release and then put a pressure and then while pressing it then that's the time you will lock it.

I got the standard mount with TomTom GO 730 and it just does not seem to work. The first time I had placed it on my windshield which I was later told was the wrong place to put it (the included maual in...

This is a fairly common issue especially with aftermarket tinted car windscreen 'film'.
You can try prolong the suction by wetting the suction cup with water of very slightly soapy water before applying it to your 'clean' windscreen area.
As for the dashboard, for some models, TomTom provide a plastic circle to which the suction cup attach to. The plastic circle is first 'permanently' attached to your dashboard with double-sided adhesive tapes.
Hope it helps: let me know how you go.

Unit keeps falling off of dash

So did mine until I got an aftermarket mount. Also, make sure the mounting disc and suction cup are perfectly clean. If you're trying to mount it in freezing weather, wait till the disc & suction cup warm up a bit before mounting.

Tom tom 130S will not speak street names

As far as I can tell the Tom tom 130S only speaks the street names when you use the computer voice (female, Amanda) and not any of the other voices.
