Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console
Ok what you have done is knocked what is called the L2 inductor off of the circuit board. It needs to be soldered back on but this is not a job for you if you are not capable of soldering. Try and find someone locally that wil be able to solder it for you. When the DS is opened be careful that the L2 inductor is not lost although if it is you can buy them off of ebay. It is simply a case of soldering it back on to the motherboard.
This image shows the L2 inductor sitting just below the power switch.
Hope this helps

Testimonial: "You were bang on !! DS Lite repaired and back in use !!! Total Cost : $0 - Thank you very much !!!"
If it is rattling, check and make sure the battery contacts are okay which they should be since it charges. If you want to attempt to open the back to see what is broke, that's fine but I doubt you will know how to fix it without the proper tools(a solder iron at the least). It may be an electronic part that became dislodged or it may be the board is broken.I repaired Nintendos for a few years for a company that contracts with them in Syracuse,NY and I would recommend just bite the bullet and send it in for repair. Here is the support number to Nintendo link.If you decide to open it,please let me know what you find.I will explain what you can do if it is self-repairable.Good luck and game on!
