Your memory card has a small tab on its side. It has an indication whether to protect the data with lock symbol. Try unswitching that button and then try accessing your card.

There's a small slide switch on one edge of the card to protect/unprotect the card from writes. Slide the switch toward the metal contacts to unprotect the card.

How do I unprotect pics on a 0lympus c-765

As it was the camera that put the protection on ..You need to put the card into the camera..And ..UN-TICK each one to unprotect them...The idea of the protected photos is so you cant erase them when you format the card.

How can I delete" write protected" and protected photos from sd card individually?

Unprotect them first, then you can delete them normally. See page 129 of the manual at http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/3/0300001393/01/eosrebelxs-1000d-im-en.pdf

If the memory card is protected, unprotect the card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

How to unlock a photo in camara

The protect function allows a user to protect a picture from accidental deletion. To unprotect a picture on your camera, scroll to the protected picture that you want to delete, then press the Menu button (the button to the right of the Play button.) Scroll down the menu and you should come to an option that allows you to Protect/Unprotect the picture. Since your picture is currently protected, deselect that option. You should then be able to delete the picture normally.

Alternatively, you could also format the memory card, however this deletes ALL photos and data you have on the memory card. If you are trying to completely clear the memory, this is the best way. After turning on your camera, simply press the Menu button, scroll to Setup, then scroll down to Format. Select Format, it will ask you if you want to format the memory card, or the camera's built-in memory. Format whichever one you want to clear, if you are using a memory card then your pictures are stored on the memory card. It will take a few seconds to format.

Hope this helps.

I put my memory card into my Kodak EasyShare C143 digital camera. I press the review button, but all that comes up is that the file is 'Unrecognised'. One out of the three pictures is unprotected, but the...

It sounds as if the card was not formatted for the camera before it was put to use. My suggestion is that you attempt to download the images that you do have to the computer, then format the memory card. Always format a new card and after each time you download pictures from the card to the computer.

How to unprotect the memory card

On most sd cards there is a physical (tiny) sliding switch on the memory card. Here is a picture of a standard SD card. On the left you can see the gray switch in the unlocked position. Hope that helps. -WN
