Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Help with noise problem

Hi,
Any strange noise like excessive clicking, grinding, some weird sounds etc. actually indicate a failing hard drive.
Failing hard drives often show warning signs of their imminent demise. If you're lucky enough to see or hear one of these signs, stop what you're doing and immediately back up your data. They say prevention is better than cure so if your computer's hard disk is making some strange clicking sounds, BACK UP YOUR DATA IMMEDIATELY (As the drive is not operating smooth and may fail anytime).
After making backup of your important data on CD/DVD or External Drive, you may scan the drive for surface errors, format it and see if it works properly or not. It would be better if you seek professional assistance for examination of the disk.

Hard drives are mostly under warranty for at least one year. Claim warranty, if possible.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

May computer cant find better match on my hardware

If you are referring to the driver(s) than that means the most updated driver is installed. You may have better luck finding a new one if you search for one on the website for the product/hardware you are inquiring about.
If you feel the hardware itself is older; and want to upgrade the hardware itself, find out who makes/manufactures the hardware, and inquire with them about the upgrade.
Also, drivers can be downloaded from either the Microsoft website, or the website of which the driver is intended for (hardware, i.e. sound card, video card etc).
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Competer starts, black screen, no power to wireless keyboard or mouse. Won't boot up.

I'm sorry to say this but these are signs of your computer's hard drive crashing. Hard drives (from what I've been told by other experts) typically crash after about 4-6 years of intense use. That's why I always recommend people backing up their important files every year. This has happened to my laptop before, I've had the same symptoms.

Now what about your files?

Well if you're lucky, you can ask a Geek Squad rep. from Best Buy or anyone else with proper experience to try to salvage your hard drive. Anyway you'd have to buy a new hard drive and replace your crashed one.

Solution: Take your computer to an expert to help you recover your hard drive files and replace the hard drive.

Cannot access the data on My Book USB 2.0 500GB external drive

Hello,

If the data on the drive is valuable and you don't have another copy then you should first try taking the enclosure to your local PC shop and have the techs there remove the hard drive inside and test it in a new enclosure. If it works in the new enclosure, buy it and you're back in business. If the new enclosure still results in the click of death, the problem is obviously with the drive itself, in that case you will need the help of the pros.

If you need a pro please reply back with your location (Country, State and City) and I will recommend a facility or two in your region.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

How i can update the quick heal anti virus

Hi !!

There can be multiple reasons for that. There is a well known virus which won't allow computers to update antivirus and also in my opinion this antiviirus is not good you can find much better than this. As a computer expert i'll recommend you nod32 and after that Avg. You can install anyone of them it'll give you much better results. Free versions of both are available on websites you can try free version before making purchase decision.

In order to remove virus try this.

Goto command prompt
type cd.. until you reach c drive
then type dnscache
it'll clear you dns cache and you'll be able to visit antivirus site. Update and run full scan.

Actually this virus blocks dns of security sites and redirect to your ip

Hope that helps
