Do you mean a replacement oil tank for your chainsaw? The following link shows a parts breakdown for your chainsaw.
Verify that part #14 is your tank (MC-300260). I will tell you is a hard part to find. You may be able to get one here.

Will a Poulan 16 " chainsaw gear fit a poulan 18 " chainsaw?

If you mean the drive gear on the end of the shaft, the answer should be yes. The radius for the drive gear does not change as the bar and chain length increase (within a few inches of bar and chain length). The determining factor for a larger bar and chain, in any chainsaw model, is the hp of the engine.

What do all the numbers mean on the chainsaw sharpener kits?

Not all chainsaws are the same size, the numbers that you see on the kits are the size of the blades on the saw. You have to make sure that the sharpener you get is the right size for your saw.

When Checking resistance in a circuit open means electricity will flow or wont flow.and does closed mean electricity will not flow or does closed meanthere is alot of resistance

Think of a circuit as a circle. When the circle is closed, the electricity can make the complete way around. When it is open, the electricity is stopped. So an open circuit is not complete and the electricity will not flow, while a closed circuit will allow the electricity to come "full circle".

Carb assembling question

Thanks Jerry.
The only that came to my mind is to try here:
ArboristSite Chainsaw thread (free to join)
I did a quick search and saw nothing for a 61 carb but it does not mean it is not there. Someone at Arborists has rebuilt your carb. The hard part will be digging them out then dredging up the right memories. Good Luck. HTH Lou
