sounds like a loose connection in the power transfer, some piece of metal may be broken or the cord itself may be damaged in some place, you could try replacing the cord. I would just go and buy a new iron. They aren't all that expensive anymore. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I hope you solve your problem. If you want any further help or have any other questions, please let me know, otherwise have a Good Day.

Check or replace fuse in plug. If that don't do it, then change fuse inside iron. Make sure iron is not plugged to supply.

Lights come on but it don't heat up..

Sounds like a defective thermofuse. Rowenta doesn't encourage anyone to repair their product except their authorized service centers. Parts are not made available. Go to rowenta.com to find the nearest service center and call them.

My DZ9080 does not heat up. The lights come on.

If it does not heat up but lights is on, the reason being is the connection to the heaters is open or disconnected. It might be due to rust(water seepage) or overheat issues. Why the light is still on, its because the tap the supply to the led before the connections to the heaters. Try dismantling it to check the connection but most irons now is difficult to dismanlte without breaking something

Need to know how to clean a rowenta iron plate

As long as it's not a coated surface - plain steel - get 0000 steelwool to rub it with. It will take some elbow grease but it will work to clean and (almost) polish the surface.
