Yellow/red static and poor image quality

After a few minutes of being on the tv developes an image issues...almost a yellow static that changes to red as well. The picture distortion has a wide range from annoying to unseeable. But does fix itself after being left on...there is now consistancy in if the static appears, how long it will be there, or if the tv will fix itself.

the colors on my set mutate from a normal picture to a pink, blue colorized version of images. i have dish satellite. they have tested the line and assured me that it is not from their feed. i have unpluggged, powered down, reset to factory default. it happens during a live broadcast, dvd playing, recorded shows you name it. it may last for a few minutes to over 30. sometimes i just turn it off in the hopes that will reset whatever is wrong. i have only had it for a year. i noticed that hsn doesn't carry the tv anymore. i don't want to comment on that! do i need to switch to an HDMI cable? should i just send it in for repairs. it's under a protection plan.

There are some components in the video processor area or the power supply area that have become thermo sensitive with age. Over time, they will most probably fail completely.

The set should be serviced by a tech who is familiar with your set and has the proper resources to service it.

Poor color quality

If you are using the component input the red plug could be loose at back of TV or Cable box or bad red plug/wire, try another input to see if color is ok on a video game or dvd player, if it is ok on another input it's probably not the TV but your source or wires

The color static, if we are talking about the same thing, is usually a digital signal interference. Check cables, and digital converter if used.

Poor picture quality & audio reception

If the input to a HD tv is not in HD format the tv won't display an image very well. Be sure your input to the tv is compatible with the tv's technology for optimum performance quality Also re-check the input source (such as converter box, dvd player, etc..) and be sure you have the correct input/output ports connected properly. Try to reset all yout tv settings back to manufacturers defult specs. When an input signal is sent to the tv most modern tv's have software built in to select the proper format to display the input image. There may have been a mismatch communication error when your tv software tried to "handshake" with your converter box input signals from its firmware. So try a reset solution and re-connect the tv without the converter and see if that helps. If not e-mail me and I'll determine if the tv needs technical servicing.

Hi KCsmooth, try to check the following b4 u toss it. At the back of your tv (without the cover), you'll find sticker with a voltage ratings written on it. They are stuck somewhere d top portion. Look for Va voltage and Vs voltage coming from the pwr supply. check and adjust if necessary.Trimmer pot somewhere on the pwr pcb board if needs to adjust. Marked Va adjust or Vs adjust.

Good Luck.
