Question about HP Pavilion dv9620us Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-58/2048MB DDR2/240GB/17 WXGA+ High-Definition Br... PC Notebook
I have a DV9500 that displays appropriate blue charge lights whenever it is plugged in. However, sometimes, when I try to start it, it won't do anything. I'll remove the cover around where the power button is and press in the actual target button manually with a mechanical pencil. But, it still won't start. Then, if I mess around with it, particularly the screws inside the battery mount; it may start back up find. Does anybody have a clue what is up with this? Or, what I need to do to remedy this issue?
Here is a fun fact about this HP laptop....the keyboard want to be grounded before the laptop will fire up in certain situations. Make sure that the three screws are secure in the battery compartment that secure the keyboard and there is another screw inside the memory compartment that has to be secure. You can tell its the keyboard screws by the keyboard icon embossed in the plastic. Also the ribbon cable that carries the input signal tend to go bad in these, especially around the fragile ends. You can get these cables on ebay for under 7 bucks.
