Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-36FS120 36" TV
TV just shut off. Son was by the remote but don't think he did anything. Now only the standby timer led flashes constant. You can hear a click when you try to turn it on and off but no pic. Other questions on this site describe a number of led flashes but this is constant, about a half second on then off then on, etc. Any ideas what to do? One similar item said "resolder connections on main circuit board". Does that mean check for cracks, or just touch a soldering iron to each connection I can find? Thanks for any help on this!
You could try touching a soldering iron to each joint, but if tv had perfect image before turning off, could be a bad flyback. Cheap part and easy repair BUT must know how to discharge any high voltage if any stored in capacitor of flyback. Might be a good repair to take in to have a pro fix it.
