Question about Canon PIXMA MP210 Photo All-In-One Printer

2 Answers

My canon pixma MP210, is not feeding the paper through, seems to jam, but printer still is printing. The paper is taken about 10cms into printer, then twists slightly but does not fee through. Have checked and does not seem to be any paper stuck when I remove the twisted sheet there is a lot of ink on the one corner which feeds into the printer slightly

There is a foreign object in the paper tray. Because it is curved you cannot see it. It is stuck in the narrowed area right before the feeding rollers.
Disconnect the cables and rotate the printer in a way it stands on its back.
Open the front cover. Use long thin flat screw driver that can go trough the paper out area and to reach the feed roller.Insert the screw driver between each pressure roller and the the feed roller to release the object. If successful it will fall out from the tray. Usually it's a coin, pen, point-protector, ruller, paper clip and so on.

Sorry! I have done what you instructed but nothing has fallen out and the printer is still not working.

Then look at the pickup roller. See if the right axis (if you look from behind) has broken and the roller is not stable. If it's OK, then I assume there is a foreign object. In both cases try to take apart the printer to reach the plastic paper inlets behind the feed roller and the roller itself. You may fix the missing axis with a screw and a hole made with a soldering iron. In this case also keep looking for the broken axis in the paper path. It also could prevent paper from proper feeding.
The plastic inlets are hold by springs which are easy to remove. After removing all plastic inlets with pressure rollers on them you will find the object that prevents the movement.

So I haven't taken the printer apart, but the paper does not get jammed the printer does not feed the paper through, I am guessing that the rollers are bent or some how dislodged, there is nothing odd in the printer but maybe when I open it with my tools I might find some thing.

    Thanks for the help

My printer was doing the same thing yesterday, and I also could find no foreign object. Yesterday was a really wet rainy day, and it seems that the humidity was causing the problem. I concluded this because when only one sheet of paper was in the feed it printed fine, only when several sheets were present did I have a jam.

I do not think humidity could have such an impact on your printer.

I used to have a similar problem with an old photocopier. When the humidity was really high sheets of paper tended to stick together.

Paper feed problem

Hi

This is happening due to paper jam on the gear or roller of the paper feed mechanism. Check for any small bits of paper or sheet stuck. To check lift up the top plastic lid of the Canon printer. Check to see if a jammed sheet of paper is visible inside the printer. Remove the cartridges and check for any small paper bits stuck under the print head. Pull the paper out gently through the bottom end of the printer(if any). Close the top plastic lid. Power On the printer and check.

If it doesn't work then power off the printer, wait 10 seconds and power it back on. try once again to print. If it doesn't work then Open the Canon printer software. Click "Options" and then select the "Clean Print Heads" button.

Paper jams every time

Only dirty rollers are obstructing the paper path. Clean the rollers with a moist cloth (NOT WET).

I have the same problem

You pulled out jammed paper from back? It might be some mecahnics slip or broke. Check paper feeder mechanics.

Paper pulls to the right, jams, won't print, tried different paper still won't print

Hi,
Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Hope that helps!

Hi,
Sounds like the feed rollers need cleaning.
Clean the feed rollers, lint free cloth, bottled water.
wait for them to properly dry

Revolve the feed roller bar as you clean them, to clean the feed rollers all the way round, remove all particles from them.

Check you ADF grips are set correctly, if not you will get mis-fed sheets. check the tray is sat properly too or mis-feeds.

Check paper size is correct in print properties too.
Should be good then
Try print.

Regards
Richard.

Paper jamming and feeding unevenly

I have the exact same problem. Until last night it worked perfectly, and when it ran out of paper, I put more papers in the back of the printer correctly and since then it won't print, it pulls paper to the right and the paper jams. I tooked the printer to the service and they say that I'm lucky that the warranty did not expired yet, cause the problem is a "manufacturing mistake", and that they will take it to the Canon service.

I realy hope they will do the job. I'm expecting to repair be done till tomorow.
