Will someone give me some tips please?
A few months back, I placed some pics online of a problem that I was having with my HS30. 5 or 6 different people said to replace the STK's and they all said the same thing.
I finally got around to replacing the STK's today and after turning it on, I get the same thing. Or maybe before the lines were curved a bit. Now the color alignment is that same but straight lines.
Maybe I am not remembering correctly. It just seems that SOMETHING may have changed with the new STK's.
Anyway, here are some pics of the problem as it is now. They are large pics so give them a min to load after you click on them.

Re: Replaced STK's : Still have problem. HS30
It is possible that either a resistor or a pico fuse has opened or changed in value. Look for discoloration on any low value resistors around convergence chips also, look for small green or tan colored fuses between power supply and convergence circuit. Test for open fuses with ohm meter. Hope that helps.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

That set has an aspect ratio of 4:3. The problem is that what you are sending to it is 16:9 So you are sending an hd signal to a non HD television. The tuner is NTSC which is not HD. Theres not much that you can do about this.
I had a similar problem. Poor picture quality, and colors way out of balance. The problem: too much dust on the circuit board. I opened it up (remove 8-10 screws and don't forget the 2 little ones holding the coax/cable connection), gently vacuumed off the circuit boards (the bottom one and the one on the back of the tube). It works perfectly now, without ever repeating the problem. This may need to be done every few years, especially in dusty environments. It has also worked on my computer motherboard, and power supply. I think a build up of dust can cause a very weak short across the closely spaced circuits. Give it a try, it's free and you don't have anything to lose! Just be gentle.
Ur tv have convergence problems,it dead.Any colors misaligns,3D pics, shadows pics. The tv convergence board must have it the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead, must be change to solved convergence problems. The shop will cost U $300-$350 for parts and labors.
hi,few yrs old tv? do you know few basic tip's check the power main board, look for leaky capacitors ,or dry solder's -re solder .and changed the 85'degree capacitors to 105' with the same volts.remember dis-conated from AC main before you do this job.good luck.
These tv's have 2 convergence IC's (integrated circuits) As to which of them controls blue,i dont know because I cant see the bottom of the board. Let a technician change them! You will only truly need one,but it is VERY HIGLY recommended that you replace them both. As one has many hours of use on it versus one that is brand new,it tends to become a hassle when the other ic needs to be replaced as well. It costs more up front but will definatly be worth it if you plan to keep this tv for a while.
If you insist on being the DIY'er,then take the back panel off at the bottom, unscrew the plastic facing that is attached to the av jacks, and look for a 40-60 pin IC that is in a 1:1 aspect this big I--------------------------------------------------------I
There will be two of them, look at the part number something like STK-xxx-xx. It doesnt necessarily have to be an stk IC but that's one of the more popular parts used. Look for it online DO NOT BUY USED unless it is coming as refurbished from a manufacturer. You will need a soldering iron and desoldering braid. TAKE YOUR TIME and don't burn the foils off of the board or you will have to make a new connection for it which is a hassle.
