How to drain carb

I suspect that I have water in the carb of Briggs V-22 engine on Exmark mower. I don't see any drain plug or screw. How do I drain the water from the carb?

If its a vertical shaft as in the shaft points down, its a 6 sided bolt nexr to the shaft/if its a horizontal shaft its right at the base just above where it bolts to the machine usually below the oil fill cap

Hi stnstomper...

Look under the mower for a square plug or allen wrench type plug, this will be your oil drain for the motor.
Some of Briggs & Stratton motors do not have an oil drain plug...
If you do not have an oil drain plug then you will have to run the mower to get it warm, then remove the oil fill plug and tip the mower towards the oil fill plug to drain out the oil thru the fill plug hole.

Where is the sparkle plugs in a yark works riding lawn mower the mower won't start

It should be under a rubber boot between the OHV cover and the muffler.

Drain your carb and check for water in the fuel too.

Good luck and be careful!

Plugs fouling out

It sounds like you may have water collected in the carb bowl. the fuel gets diluted to the point that the engine won't run and yet when you pull the plug it is wet with the diluted fuel. Drop the carb bowl and see if water is in it or if you have a drain plug just drain it. Check the fuel tank to see if there is water in it also and drain and clean if nesecarry. The water comes from condensation.

Mower wont start

About the only suspect is water in the fuel - even after you drained it. If your Masport has a 'Quantum' style engine with a float type carb, undo the bowl nut and allow the float chamber to drain. Odds on there's water in it. A single drop will block the jet. If it's a 'carb-on-the-tank' engine, chech for water droplets in the bottom of the tank. They wll be obvious if present.

Engine turns over strong but will not start.

I'd pull the carb bowl off first and see if it has water or other crud in it. there should be an oil drain on the bottom, sometimes they are an allen socket plug which sits fairly flush
