Question about Sega Dreamcast Console

1 Answer

My controller dpad doesnt work correctly, if I don't touch it, everything works great. but if i touch it, it starts registering left and down continuous pressing in the dpad, and it is not the cable of the controller. must be the board of the controller itself, how can i try to solve it?

hum, I was trying to avoid that, or even just disabling the dpad, if no other solution. But thank you for your answer. Best Regards

Not much you can do...try checkingat game stop or gamestop.com for a used controller. Parts are no longer made for the dreamcast unit as it stopped production allmost 8 years ago

Reset family setting...

This can be a headache to fix but sometimes you might just be lucky by using the following method .First go to system settings then find your way to System info click on it and you will see a screen showing your Dashboard 2.0.16537 this dash number may be different from yours but don\'t worry about it just continue to next step. On your controller press LT then RT then X then Y then LB then RB now this last four could be your lucky code .Try first X and again X then press UP then DOWN on the Dpad of the controller with some luck you will be greated with a RESET SYSTEM SETTINGS screen this is where you must click YES if you click NO then you will have to start all over again .There are many different codes (last four only) so to find the right one is the \'\'kop-krap\'\'.if it don\'t work then try your own codes like LLDX etc. There is a much easier way but if you like me who fixes Xboxes etc, etc, then you can simply use JRunner and read the Nand of your xbox no need for CPU keys etc .When you have your Nand then all you need do is click on TOOLS then SMC CONFIG EDITOR and find your consoles RESET CODE in here .have fun.

Take off family code

Hi, really you have only a couple options. Either guess the security questions correctly, reset the system or get it replaced.

If you want to just get to the prompt to change the passcode and you know the security question, type in:
Code to go to family control security questionX, Y, Left Trigger, X

If you want to reset all settings to factory default you would press:
Code to restore factory defaults.LT, RT, X, Y, LB, RB, D(dpad), Y, U(dpad), D(dpad)
Go to console settings and all the way down to select system info.
Enter code above.
Then you will be prompted to restore factory defaults.
Your 360 will then restart and go to the dashboard.
When prompted to restore family settings, you would choose to skip it.

Also, you can do this while removing all storage devices if you are concerned of any changes. Just turn off your system before and after while disconnecting your hard drive or memory units.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Dpad on my psp doesn't work, What should I do?

Replace the DPAD with a new one. If the warranty is up don't bother sending it back it will cost too much. If you are comfortable with opening it up, here is a great link to do the repair at home:

I can't work out how to set the dpad up as a joystick

Don't bother setting the diagonal movements, just leave them as the default, which should be DPad NE, NW, SE, SW. This is how I have used the dpad in quite a few MMOs and a couple FPS and it has worked for all of them.

Directional buttons work fine, until I start playing a game

Ok. navigate to system settings and scroll down to RESTORE SYSTEM SETTINGS, after that turn off your psp and wait for about 3 minutes and turn it back on.
Write back if this doesn't help.

HTC touch HD is completley frozen

If you have all your items saved to your computer with Active Sync, then do a master reset:
HTC Touch hard reset 14 January 2008
  • Power on.
  • Press and hold buttons marked 1.
  • Press and release 2 with stylus.
  • Release buttons marked 1 when menu comes up.
  • Press directly down on center dpad, marked 3.
You can also get tips & tricks from www.htcwiki.com
It has the latest and great updates, software, even known issues if you ever come across this. HTC does recommend that you do a master/hard reset once a quarter to keep it moving smoothly. Also, ensure you don't have a lot of open running programs. Perhaps once a day, clean the cashe and history. Do a soft reset (aka battery pull) once or twice a week. All depends on how hard you play with this lovely PDA device!

Know dpad

The d-pad is the fancy four buttons above the left handle on the controller. It is slightly up to the left of the left joystick. I hope that solves your problems..

RCR460 with Emerson Tv doesnt change channel to input sources

found the answer but it doesnt help.......i got the number to who makes RCA remote controls and called them and talked to tech support to see what i could do for this problem. According to them, some universal remotes are compatible with most tvs but sometimes the remote can only give you the basic functions (chan up/down, volume up/down, #'s, mute an so on.) i dont really understand why it wouldnt work for the input channel but i do know i have a lower end and low priced tv. so....just like everything else the more you pay...the better it is. I checked the remote on my other tv in the living room and everything works just fine, even the input button. Hope this helps...
