What you describe seems to be very poor workmanship and is, in most areas of the U.S. illegal. Have it fixed properly by the plumber who did the work or report them to your local building authority.

When I flush the toilet upstairs the toilet in the basement "burps". The water goes down the drain . What causes this? and how would I fix it

at this point it indicates a blockage in the pipes after the bottom pan
could be tree roots, waste, grease and fats from the kitchen /bath
try using a quality caustic soda product to destroy fats , waste and other organic material
other than that get in a plumber with a worm and cutter to remove build up/ roots from the pipe
if this problem is new in an established system it needs cleaning out but if is new in a new house , get a plumber to rectify the plumbing layout

I've had a saniplus toilet system (with toilet and sink) for about 10 years. Suddenly stopped working as well. The macerator pump runs in shorter bursts and the water level in the toilet goes down

You should check the 1 1/2" vent pipe if there is one attached to the top of the pump casing. The vent pipe must be vented to the open air, outside of the house so the unit can breath air in and out at all times. A lack of airflow usually creates this type of problems. Leave the vent connection open to the room and flush the toilet, you will see the difference when pumping.

I wont to replace the sealant from around the tiolet waste pipe, what is the best way of doing this?

turn water supply off to toilet and disconnect water line from bottom of toilet tank. flush toilet to drain tank, use towel to soak up water inside that didnt flush.remove the 2 bolts ( 1 on each side of toilet), lift toilet up and move to one side and lay on it side, scrape off old wax ring from bottom of toilet, scrape off excess wax from pipe on floor. install new wax ring over drain pipe. stand toilet upright and lift straight up over drain hole and reset slowly to make sure each bolt goes through the holes on toilet, replace nuts and washers on toilet and tighten. hook water supply liune back up and turn on water.

Our toilet is 127mmsfrom the wall to the centre of the s fitting and most toilets are 140mm, how can we fit a new toilet pleaase, also the water pipe is on the left hand side and toilets i have loked at...

Toilets water pipes can come on either side majority are on the left side when facing toilet.A longer water supply line can be used for the water connection if the toilet has it on the opposite side.A plumbing supply house and some good hardware stores will carry a close rough toilet that can set 50 mms closer to the wall than a standard toilet. Generally toilets are measured from the wall to the center of the drain in the floor which standard is 304.8 mm so a close rough would fit with a drain 254 mms from the wall

I've just fitted a Nabis breeze and am having flushing problems.

Well many toilets flush very high before flushing, they appear to almost overflow, but if that doesn't seem like your problem, I would recommend adjusting the float on the Fluid-master fill valve so that there is less water in the tank when it flushes.

My daughter flushed he winter hat down the toilet. How do i get it out?

Kids eh?

.. I had my son flush LOTS of wipes down ours ...

*** STEP 1 ... DISCONNECT THE MAINS POWER SUPPLY!!!! ***

You'll need to drain the main toilet bowl of water and remove the toilet bowl away from the sanoflo. This may require that you also empty the cistern and stop the water from entering it (do you have an inline valve to the cistern supply pipe?)

When you have emptied the water and removed the toilet bowl there should be a large Jubilee clip attaching the saniflow to the WC waste outlet. Loosten this and remove it so you can see into the saniflo where the WC waste goes.

You should be able to see the object and reach it with your hands. I would suggest wearing some rubber gloves to protect your hands from getting gunk in cuts etc.

If you cannot get to the object, you'll need to empty out the other pipes to the Saniflo and remove the unit. When you have done this you'll need a star driver to open up the unit and get to the object inside. I would suggest that since most of the saniflo range have an internal grille to stop objects such as this actually hitting the macerator that you should be able to reach it just by disconnecting the WC waste connection

If this helps please leave feedback

Hi,

Yes, depending upon which model you have it *may* be fairly easy. My son decided to put a whole load of 'kando's' down ours!
