I've not worn my watch in 7 years. I did not think it had a battery. It charged from movement. I tried to wear 2 days and still it does not work.

It probably needs a good cleaning and lubrication. This can be done at any watch repair shop, even the ones they have in Sears department stores, if you have no specialty shops in your are.

I bought this watch 1.5 years back.I have started using that.It worked properly. For the last few months I didn't wear it.Now the watch is not working. So the problem is in the battery ?

On average, I've found that analog wristwatches that use a silver oxide (or alkaline) battery last about a year after a fresh battery has been installed. Digital watches, because they have no moving parts, will typically last longer on a set of batteries if you're not using the alarm or backlight function. Watches that use lithium batteries generally last two years or more between battery changes.

Based on your model watch, I would guess that your battery has run down too far to power the movement. A fresh battery will probably fix your watch. Hint: in the future, if you aren't going to wear your watch for a while, pull the stem out into the "set" position. That will stop the movement and extend the life of your battery. When you want to wear the watch, simply set the time (and date, if you have a date window) and push the stem back in.

1. tends to stop if you are not wearing it 2. tends to stop at particular times ie 12.20 3. can't rewind the time past certain times

Automatic watches will generally run for 2-3 days before they stop.

I have no idea what causes the other problems.

If you want to keep it going while you are not wearing it, you can buy a watch winder, which gives it enough movement to operate the self winding mechanism.

Watch running fast about 5 seconds per minute. it had stopped because didn't wear it for a few days. didn't wind it at all. just set time and it started but now running way too fast. any...

mcdevito75 here, Depending on how new your IWC watch is, without running at all can be bad in the way that the oil in the movement can settle and more or less drain off the moveing parts, and without the oil distributed thru out the movement, your watch could run a bit fast. Re--starting your watch as you"ve done will help, re-distribute the oil, in the mean time switch your watches position on your wrist every couple of hours, crystal on top of wrist, then 2--3 hours later crystal turnned under the wrist, it may take a day or two for the condition to correct itself, if I'm right. Hopefully you have a warrantee with IWC on your watch. Hope this helps.

When I started wearing the watch it would stop at least once a day and I would have to pull out the reset time button, fix the time and push the button back in again to get it started. It happened 4 days...

If it's a quartz watch, replace the battery. If it's a mechanical watch, even a "self-winding" model, wind it manually - unless you're very active it needs a manual winding if you don't wear it all the time. If it's more than a few years old it may need cleaning by a watchmaker.

Breitling Colt Kinetic Watch - not working

I read the instructions for a similar type of watch and while the battery will keep the watch "alive" for some months when not in use, eventually the battery dies.

Since it is a kinetic watch the instructions I read said that you should gently shake the watch about 500 times to recharge the battery!

If you give it a good shake and then wear it for a few days, it should recharge itself, although it may have forgotten the time and may need re-setting.

Good luck!

I have 4 seiko watches that no longer work. Most unreliable watch

mcdevito75 here, hello Diane, I'm afraid your jeweler is correct, and so are you. It is adviseable to pull the stem out to save the battery BUT, only if your not going to wear your watch for a long time, not just over night, here"s the problem!! the quartz mechanism and most of the works are plastic, and plastic while fairly flexable when new, gets hard over time, your pulling the stem to stop the watch everyday or even once a week most likely broke the switch in the mechanism that starts the watch, if so your only option is to replace the movement if you can get one. Pull the stem to stop your watch only if your not going to wear your watch for say 2 weeks toa month.

Wrong time

Your watch is an automatic watch which means it winds itself as long as you are wearing it. If you don't wear it for several days it will stop working. To solve this situation buy an automatic watch winder to keep your watch in while you are not wearing it and it will keep the correct time.

Rolex runs down

sounds like you need a new watchmaker, Your watch is designed to be worn 16 hours a day an rested for 8 while you sleep and this should keep it running. there are several different mainsprings that can be installed depending on the age and your activity level. I would be happy to take a look at it for you.
