Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Two choices. You can open the control panel and create a new user account and delete your previous account with the wrong name. Or you can change the name if the other account. If you do that your new account has to have administrative rights and you cannot be logged in to the account you are changing.

Tip

Accounts unusable due to password loss

When getting a new computer set up two administration accounts, and always change the name from "administrator".

Set one account to your name (simple to remember) and your own memorable password. Use this account on a regular basis for your data and for software updates.

Set one account to something simple like the name "BLACK". Set the password to something memorable like the opposite "WHITE". Keep this account unused.

So if you forget the password of the used account, you should be able to go in the second account and change the password of the first account, without any problems.

Write down the name and password somewhere of both accounts in a diary for instance, so that you can look it up at a later date. Not writing passwords down is good advice, until you need it!

If you are having problems with your used account, it is still possible to recover data using the second administrator account before you do a factory reset, which would destroy ALL of the data.

There are a lot of questions in the PC sections which refer to lost passwords and account names.
Plus lot of requests for factory resets due to being unable to access anything.

Hopefully this advice will prevent the need to ask, as we as experts cannot second-guess what you put in as a account name and password.

Thus the only thing we can suggest is a Factory reset, if that is possible!

Bought from someone else need to put my nane on it

You have to make 2 changes, One for the computer and one for the user. Here is how you do both:
CHANGE COMPUTER NAME:
  1. Right click my computer and select properties
  2. Select "Advanced System Settings" (skip if win xp)
  3. Select "Computer Name" tab
  4. click "change"
  5. Enter the name of your choice
CHANGE USER NAME:
You cannot change a user account by just changing the name. Just changing the name will make a cosmetic change only and not affect the underlying files/folders in the profile.

1. From an account with administrative privileges, go to Control Panel>User Accounts and create the new Standard user account named the way you want and at least one extra Administrator account. Call the latter "CompAdmin" or "Tech" or the like.
2. Log into the new Standard user account once so the profile files/folders are created and then log into CompAdmin.
3. Now go to Control Panel>System>Advanced>User Profiles>Settings
4. You will see where you can copy user accounts. Copy the old account to the new one from there. Use the Browse to select your new account (C:\Users\newaccount).
5. Log into the new correctly named account and make sure all your stuff is there and that it works the way you want. When you are satisfied, you can log out and into CompAdmin and delete the old user account from Control Panel>User Accounts.

If you wish to log into your new, corrected account automatically, do this:Start Orb>Search box>type: netplwiz [enter]
Click on Continue (or supply an administrator's password) when prompted by UAC

Uncheck the option "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to automatically log on by clicking on the desired account to highlight it and then hit OK. Enter the correct password for that user account (if there is one) when prompted. Leave it blank if there is no password (null).
