Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Displai is not proper, it shows white display with cross white lines

If Windows hold down F8 on startup. This will bring you into "safe mode" right click on the desktop
and bring up properties. Here you can change the desktop settings. Or go under My Computer,
system properties, and bring up the device manager and change the monitor here.

Hp xw9300 has 4gb of memory installed however the system properties only shows 2 gb of memory. the bios shows 4gb of memory

This article alnog with the possibility that your graphics card is using maybe a gig of memory may explain why you don't see the 4G memory in system properties. Of course it would be useful to indicate what operating system you're using.

I lost my battery and volume icons in my notification sections when i did an update. how do i get them back?

Since you didn't mention the Operating System installed on your system, i'll just give you the instructions as a general for Windows Operating system.
Right-click the Task-Bar > Properties > Customize > Restore Default > Apply and see if any changes have been taken effect. If so, you can close the taskbar "properties" dialog box.

If not, under the "Customize" click on the right-hand side of the "Volume" and select "Show" or "Always show", do the same with the "battery". And click "Apply" and "Ok".

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Shows no local connection and yellow warning sign does not show installed on computer

You have not assigned ip to your NIC Card thus it is showing yellow warning sign. Just double click on double computer icon in system tray, select properties, select tcp/ip, click properties, assign ip address & subnet mask to that. For eg: ip address 192.168.0.2 , subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.

How to change background

These tabs are the only way to change the background or screen saver. The display properties are integrated into the operating system, so, if the tabs are missing, this is an error with the operating system. Start with a system restore. Keep going back until they show on the display properties. If a restore doesn't work, then you will need to do an operating system repair with your recovery or operating system disc.

Processor slowing down?

On the system properties you will able to check your processor speed and your memory, it is possible that the other description is referring to your memory or Ram.

You can use other program like aida32 to check your computer spec or you can try the steps below.

To check the CPU speed, from the Start menu, select Run... , then enter msinfo32 .

You can also type DXDIAG then enter.
