Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I need a 3-pin led connector from my ballast: Samsung part#BP47-00016A(LAMP-BALLAST;EUC 120 P/H 11,120W P/H 11, ) to my DMD: BP96-00249A for my Samsung DLP 61" Tv model HLN61W. Anyone knows that part number. It is a skinny cable that connects the lamp ballast to the DMD board.

Hi.

The cable is not listed as an individual part, but it is provided with the ballast. Here the ballast as it is sold (same as yours).

I suggest contacting Partstore by phone and checking if they can sell you a spare cable, as said the part is not normally sold individually.

Call the number below and ask if they can send you the cable.

Why does my samsung tv cut off by itself after 1-2 min and flash a red lamp button?

A little explanation first- this model (as do most Samsung DLP sets) will try 3 times to get the lamp lit before the microprocessor will give up and then the 3 lites on the front will blink indicating a LAMP failure. This process takes about 1 to 2 minutes. In order of probabilty, the failures are:
1) A faulty lamp and/or ballast. REPLACE LAMP AND/OR BALLAST
However, a faulty lamp and/or ballast are not the only things that will give this blink code-
2) If the color wheel has a bad bearing and turns too slow or not at all, the microprocessor WILL NOT let the lamp light, and then give a LAMP blink code. A bad color wheel will normally have some sort of abnormal sound- a low growl or high pitched whine is common. REPLACE COLOR WHEEL
3) ALSO, if the microprocessor (on the DMD board) in its color wheel rotation detection or processing fails, once again the lamp is prevented from coming on and you get a LAMP blink code. REPLACE DMD BOARD
IF THE SET EVER COMES ON WITH A PICTURE for even a fraction of a second or though it takes many tries, the lamp and ballast are good. The problem must be either the color wheel or DMD board.

Not coming on, lights blink, but nothing happens

First thing to check is the bulb. On the back of the set is a hatch with four black screws. There is a TT symbol on that hatch, open it and you'll see the black lamp housing over the ballast circuit board. Remove the silver screw on the left of the housing and pull the aparatus straight out. It may stick a little, don't be afraid to give it a tug or two. Check the bulb, the part of the filament that burns is inside the glass tube that is near the base of the bulb bowl. If it looks broken or burned. Replace the bulb. Ebay sells them for about $100 or less. I've never had a problem with OSRAM vs Phillps, so whichever. Phillips is better but OSRAM does work too.
Sometimes you buy the bulb with the housing sometimes not. Its pretty easy to replace the bulb. You-tube it. Reverse the dismantle and see if it comes on. If not, we move onto the color wheel and ballast. Email me if this doesn't fix your problem and I'll help you move onto the next step. cfoley@hawaii.rr.com
Good luck.

STANDBY LIGHT TURN ON

when turning on the set will go three startup cycles about 2-3 min. then all three leds will blink/ possible causes /lamp/ballast/dmd board check or purchase the dmd board last (costs) also listen for arcing from the ballest at startup and fan noise if you can and color wheel noise also.if you hear the ballast arcing and trying to fire the lamp look at the lamp.

Ballast replacement

Your set uses the Phillips UPH100W 1.3 100http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/ 1amp bulb part number 6912V00006A which uses Ballast EUC 6913V0002A and the actual ballast isMB03CA part number 6871VSMB13F I would contact LG and give them these numbers. Is your ballast bad or is the BallastEUC bad? Let me know if I can help you further.
