Will an electric motor with more horsepower and more rpm hurt a compressor pump?

Electric motors seem to turn around 1125 rpm or 3600 rpm. The pulley size on the motor and pump must be adjusted to achieve the desired result without overheating /loading the motor. I have seen pumps turning from 800 to 1200 rpm using different pulley size on motor, motor hp and motor rpm. Some brands will turn same pump from 1200 to 3600 rpm depending on if was electric or gas motor. This will certainly shorten the life of the pump but will most likely work. Most turn an average of 1200 rpm for good balance of long life and good supply of air. Pump rpm is usually limited to the power of the motor. Cost effective match of 1.5 hp motor will turn pump about 1000 - 1200 rpm for about 5cfm. Rol Air 2hp motor turns 2 cyl pump about 1100 rpm for 10 cfm. Good luck

What brand of pump? The shaft of the motor doesn't come out of the middle of the motor unless you take the motor apart and there are no o-rings in the middle of a motor

DL = Long Drain Ld flashes when the water level does not change after the drain pump is on.
Is the drain hose or the drain pump clogged?
Is the drain hose height greater than 96? ?

Perform the following checks if washer fails to drain or recirculate.
1. See Activation of Manual Diagnostic Test Mode, and perform the Manual: Pumps test.
2. Remove the console to access the machine/ motor control assembly. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies.
3. Visually check that the P4 connector is inserted all the way into the machine/motor control. If visual check passes, go to step 4. If visual check fails, reconnect P4 and repeat step 1.
4. Remove connector P4 from the machine/ motor control and check resistance values of pump motor windings. Resistance values should match those shown in wiring diagram, page 7-1. If resistance values are good, go to step 7. If winding measurements are much higher (tens of ohms to infinity) than shown in wiring diagram, a problem exists in the motor winding or in the connection between the machine/motor control and the motor. Go to step 5.
5. Tilt machine forward to access the bottom of the machine and the pumps. See Figure 1, page 6-13.
6. Check the resistance at the pump motor. Remove the connector at the motor and take measurements across pump terminals. Measurements should be as shown in the wiring diagram. If winding measurements are much higher (tens of ohms to infinity) than shown in wiring diagram, replace the pump motor. If the resistance at the pump motor is correct, there is an open circuit in the wiring between the motor and the machine/ motor control. Repair or replace the lower wiring harness. If the pump motor windings and machine/ motor control check OK, repair or replace the pump. Be sure to check the pump and tub sump for foreign objects before replacing pump.
7. See Activation of Manual Diagnostic Test Mode, and perform the Manual: Pumps test.
8. If the Manual: Pumps test failed, then the machine/motor control has failed: Unplug the washer or disconnect power. Replace the machine/motor control assembly. Perform the Manual: Pump test.

This is a Speck swimming pool 1.5kw pump I need to replace the motor stator bearings but don't know how to take the pump impeller off

This is the most popular pump frame. The motor will actually have a square flange as an integral part of the motor (not the pump) on the front of the motor with 4 holes (one hole in each corner of the flange). The pump body will be secured to this square flange with 4 bolts, which are outside the round barrel of the motor. Caution: Make certain the square flange is part of the motor; not the pump body. Many pumps are square and may appear to be part of the motor. Removing the motor from the pump will allow you to make certain how the pump is fastened to the motor. How the pump is fastened to the motor determines the basic type of frame.
Note: Also, some 48Y frame motors are actually thru-bolt style; therefore, check the mounting bolts to make certain they are not thru-bolt style as described below.
Not a square flange on your motor? If you do not see a square flange as described above for the square frame motor, then you have a pump body, which mounts to the motor with 4 bolts accessible inside the pump case. This non-square frame will be a thru-bolt style frame, 56J frame, or 56C frame. How to determine if you have a 56J or 56C frame: The pump body mounts to the face of the motor with 4 bolts just inside the circumference of the motor barrel. To see these mounting bolts, you must take apart the pump body and look inside the pump. The bolts will be fastened into the face of the motor with threaded holes. 56J frame: If your pump body mounts into the face of the motor as described in the previous paragraph, and the impeller is threaded onto the motor shaft, then you have a 56J frame. Additionally, the impeller may be secured with a small screw, which is threaded into the center of the motor shaft. If the outside of the shaft is not threaded, maybe you have a 56C frame. 56C frame: If your motor has a shaft with a key-way (small metal key slides into a groove machined along the length of the motor shaft), then it is a 56C frame. These are very rare in today's pumps. If your pump is 20 years old or older, it may have a keyed shaft (56C), but even then is unlikely. The keyed shaft may also have an internal tapped thread to help hold the impeller once it slides over the key-way. Thru-bolt style frame: The motor mounting bolts are the key with this style of motor. Like the name implies, if the pump fastens with nuts to the 4 bolts, which pass all the way thru the motor, then you have a thru-bolt frame. These extremely long bolts (8 inches or longer) will go through the motor. These motors are popular on spas and above ground swimming pool pumps. NOTE: Sometimes these motors are also labeled 48Y frames, but they are not square flanged 48Y frames. a rebuilt motor is the cheap way $85 ,new around 200, the impeller will need to be ID to get the right size motor. search for your local pool pump repair guy with free motor testing, use your zip code in the search. you might get your old motor rebuilt and thats even cheaper .. Replace ao smith pump motor

Hi ,, the pump motor will separate from the pump housing. there are 4 to 6 bolts around the joint between the motor and the pump. You probably want to remove the pump and motor from the system and get it to a more comfortable place for working. Unscrew the bolts and the motor will come off the pump housing. Then you need to remove the pump impellar. The whole thing goes back together in the reverse steps .. If you go to a pool shop for your motor , they should have an exploded model that you can look at to see how all the parts reassemble ..

Not pumping water out

if the dish washer is not pumping out water it could be a motor or a pump issue. the motor attached to the pump forces water up into the sprayer arms and during the drain cycle, this pushes the water out of the dishwasher. The motor and pump is normally under the dishwasher.
check and see if the motor spins. if it spins, then the problem is with the pump ,if it doesn't spin it could be a motor problem or a motor and pump problem.then test and replace the faulty pump or motor . hope this helps

Leaking hot tub motor

hi! there,
well occassionaly leak on pumps this is due to the mechanical shaft seal has been worn out.If you can do fix your self
try to prepare tools to be used mostly set of socket wrench,set of open and closed wrench,pipe wrench one pair,screw driver flat and cross,switch off circuit breaker of pump motor,disconnect elctrical wiring of pump motor,disconnect pump pipe fitting usually on union service fiiting, if pump is free from fitting loosen bolt on pump motor base,pull out pump motor place on a particular working table,have a prepare box to place all bolt to be disconnected on pumps,we have to pull out motor from pumps housing assemblyd217218.jpg
have you seen hydro pump,the motor assembly was couple to pums assembly.thereare 4 long bolts connected holding motor to pump assembly at the back of motor loosen this to disengage
motor and pump assembly,try to put mark on motor back cover
for reference in putting back.if motor is disengage on pump assembly, of course the rotor of motor still connected on pump assembly.

the shaft seal is connected to the rotor shaft inside pumps assembly,there are 4 bolts holding pump casing front cover loosening this will appear the centrifugal blade connected to rotor shafting holiding by a big nut at tip of rotor shaft.loosen this by socket wrench try to find the size,then pull centrifugal blade with
