Yes its an issue of conflict.

Please try to update your USB port and update the BIOS

Then try it again, it should work

Else try to do MSCONFIG and disable all startup items and non-microsoft services and plug it back in, it should work

How o use msconfig:

Start>Run> type msconfig

Click on startup tab on top and click on 'disable all'
Click apply

Click on services tab on top , check the box 'hide all microsoft services'
then click 'disable all'
Click apply and close the box

Restart the system , if prompted on re-start please select the check box 'dont show this msg' and click ok

The problem might be with your new keyboard and mouse. Because you have tried with all the usb ports. So try your keyboard with some of ur friends PC and then you can decide on the prob whether its with ur PC or with ur newly purchased Product

I cannot get my keyboard or my mouse to work with my dell computer. what can i do?

Please add more information to get specific assistance. Are these wireless devices? If wired, do they use USB or PS/2 connections.

For wireless devices, try replacing the batteries and resynching to the receiver. (You may want to check putting the receiver in different USB ports.)

For wired devices, disconnect and reconnect. For PS/2 devices, you will need to restart the computer to check if the devices work. For USB devices, try connecting to different USB ports.

Next step, try using a different keyboard and mouse (that work on another computer (stick to USB or PS/2 to match the current pair)). Try a wired set if the problem is with a wireless pair. If those work, continue diagnostics on the wireless keyboard and mouse. Check if the mouse and keyboard work on another computer. If they don't work with another computer, replace them.

If another USB keyboard and mouse pair don't work in any port, your USB ports may have failed. Check if even one port works enough to access the Device Manager. (Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager (Win7); similar directions in other versions of Windows) Check for a problem with the drivers (For USB ports, scroll down to the USB drivers and look for a triangle with a yellow exclamation point or red x). Try to update the driver or roll it back. If that doesn't help and one USB port works, a USB hub may solve the problem.

Otherwise if the USB or PS/2 ports do not work with any devices and the driver fix doesn't work, then I'd suspect a problem with the ports on the motherboard. Replace the motherboard/computer.

I hope this helps.

I have replaced batteries on the optical mouse 3000 (microsoft) but it still does not turn on. Usually the red light underneath, came on, when i installed new batteries, now that is even gone! Help

Try to connect the receiver to a different port. Then, check the behavior of the device. By trying the receiver on a different port, you can eliminate any issues that affect the port itself.

Also, try to connect the receiver to a USB port on the back of the computer. The ports that are located on the back of the computer typically have more bandwidth (power) available. Note Bypass any port replicators, USB hubs, KVM switches, and so on. Connect the receiver directly to the port. A port replicator is a device that contains common ports, such as serial and parallel ports. The replicator plugs into a portable computer. A KVM switch is a hardware device that enables a single keyboard, video monitor, and pointing device to control more than one computer one at a time. If this is the source of the problem, and you want to continue using one of these devices, contact the manufacturer of that device to see whether there is a solution or a newer product that will work with your wireless mouse.Be aware that items such as desktop fans, metal furniture, and fluorescent lights may interfere with the signal from the pointing device. Try to test the device in a different location.

If the issue continues to occur, test the mouse on a different computer in a different environment. If you can replicate the problem in a different environment, you may have a defective device. If this is the case, see the "More Information" section for information about how to contact Microsoft Supplemental Parts to obtain a replacement device.

The Mousinfo diagnostic tool is installed together with the IntelliPoint software. If you do not have this software, you cannot open the tool.

To install the IntelliPoint software, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=MK

Chick and wheel works but mouse won't move pointer

  1. Try to connect the Mouse receiver to a different USB port. Then, check the behavior of the device.

Also, try to connect the receiver to a USB port on the back of the computer. The ports that are located on the back of the computer typically have more power available. Note Bypass any port replicators, USB hubs, KVM switches, and so on. Connect the receiver directly to the port.
  2. Replace the batteries, and determine whether this resolves the issue. Make sure that you have inserted both the required batteries into the wireless pointing device and that they are positioned in the correct direction. After replacing the batteries, press the reset, or resync button on the mouse or on the receiver.
  3. If the issue continues to occur, test the mouse on a different computer in a different environment. If you can replicate the problem in a different environment, you may have a defective device.
  4. If the mouse buttons are recognized, and the pointer won't move, you may have a defective device. However, the best way to determine whether the device is defective or damaged is to try the device on a different computer.

Spyder mouse won't work

I had a similar problem. I corrected by performing a manual connect as listed in the manual that came with the mouse.
Manual reconnect:
1. Plug in the receiver.
2. Turn on the mouse.
3. Press the button on the receiver.
4. Press the connect button on the mouse once within five seconds of pressing the button on the receiver.

This worked for me, and the mouse has worked fine since.

If this doesn't work. The manual suggested taking the batteries out of the mouse for 20 seconds and unplugging the receiver, then repeat the steps above.
If that doesn't work. reboot the computer and repeat the steps above.

Hope this helps.

Make sure the mouse is linking to the wireless receiver on you have plugged into the computer (there should be a reset button on the mouse to establish a new link).

This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
