For motors up to 1 horsepower you can buy ( about $125) variable frequency drives (VFD) that convert 110V 1-phase input to 220 V 3-phase output with speed control. Larger ones may be available. Larger ones are available for 220 V 1-phase input and 3-phase output. Source(s): http://web2.automationdirect.com/adc/Sho…

http://www.driveswarehouse.com/Drives/AC… The best solution is to change the motor over to a single phase motor. Any good supplier should be able to get a motor that could be asapted to fit. Of course of the motor is over 3hp then single phase motors will not be as efficient.

I have a sparkie friend and was talking to him about the convertors. He said that they do work ok but use a phenomal amount of power and can get extremely hot, saying that you shouldn't use them for long periods of time to make sure that you give the convertor to cool down.

I have old carrier 50zp060511s Air Conditioners that having voltage details like 3ph 220V 60hz UL Standard But now i have voltage of 400V 3ph & 230V 1ph.. is there any solution for this issue..

If you are reading 400 volts coming into the unit, call electric company. You should only have 220-240 from your power lines. Anything over that will burn out unit. P.S. In my opinion Carrier Units are the best and longest lasting when properly maintained.

What size generator do I need to run a 10 hp motor

on the plate attached to the motor you will find several important items
one is the wattage of the motor
this is the maximum wattage that the motor uses when under load
the gen set will need to be at least 30% bigger than that figure
next there will the number of phases that the motor is
it will read as 1 ph or 3ph
If it is 1ph that is a single phase motor and will ru from a single phase gen set
however if it is 3ph you will need a 3ph gen set to run the motor
As most single phase motors are limited to around 5hp I would be very sure that the motor is not 3ph
specialist advice from an accredited electrician or electrical motor shop is recommended before buying a gen set. as if you need 3ph the gen sets become expensive.

Change cebora prof 55 plasma cutter from 3ph 4oov to 1ph 230v

Sorry but you can't change a prof 55 3ph to monophase. The 3ph transformer is simetric, but the 1ph prof 55 transformer isn't.
You should change transformer and add a bank of capacitors to compensate the lack of power.

Lg out door unit shows a CH23 error. What could the problem be? Could this mean that the PC unit has gone. Thanks Joe

Inverter dc voltage low. Check dc voltage of capacitors 300 Vdc for 1Ph and 600 Vdc for 3Ph. If OK change outdoor inverter PCB. Helpful?

Fault code 049f,this fault shows on hard wired controler connected to high wall unit?

f-049 Check power supply voltage to the outdoor unit is correct (1ph ?220 Vac ±10% or 3ph ?380 Vac ±10%). If OK check fuses, if fuses OK, replace outdoor main PCB

Ge jsp42 electric range ..Oven heats up very slowly..sometimes can take one hour to heat to 400 degrees..Stove top also slow..

Check the voltage at the outlet. It should be 208v or 240v. check by putting meter probe into the 2/3 slots. NOT the U shaped,or round looking holes.Check one to another. Check tag on range for voltage of range. If you have 208v at the outlet and range is 240v the oven will take forever to heat, it is not getting the power it needs. If the tag says 230v either will work. On the oven tag it will say either 1ph, or 3ph. If it says 3ph you outlet should have the voltage mentioned above between ALL 3 SLOTS! If you get 120v when testing any slot, you have only 1ph of power. Keeping it simple, the ph, (or phase,) between the outlet and oven have to be the same.

Whenever i switch it on at the mains breaker trips

The electric is hooked up wrong. Sounds like ypou have a leg of power hooked up to ground. Check to see if you have single, or three pase at the outlet, and the oven is the same. If the breaker is a 3 wide the power is 3 phase. If you hook up an oen to 3phase that is only single phase, you are connecting one leg of power to ground. The breaker will trip every time you use it.Look on the tag on the oven, it will say 1ph, or 3ph. If outlet has 3 slots, and the oven is 1ph it is hooked up to incorrect voltage. Contact me for clarification if needed

Need to convert 3ph to 1ph older h-600 model

that means changing mtr , contactors, that 1 phase is expensive never mind the kit to c/o keep 3 phase set up install a roto-phase in building, not a static phase inverter . the money you spend on coversion of mixer, i think the roto-phase is the cheaper of the two

Is the Delta 31-380 edge sander a 1 phase or 2 phase? Is it 110v or 220v?

It appears that it could be either, they show 2 motors for this tool and list 1ph or 3ph. Is their a nameplate on the unit that would indicate the proper voltage? If not let me know and I will dig deeper.
